How much do you have to pay for sand up there? They charge by the cubic meter here and not the truckload, and it's getting bloody expensive.

I agree totally with Koman we have 40 trucks coming next week 200 Baht a truck and the truck is bigger than the one you have had. Be careful with the prices you are being charged that is over 3 times the price AND a smaller truck. When we raised up our land a year ago we here charged 230 Baht a truck your size. I thought THAT was expensive.
SCROTUM PASS ME PISTOL
It seems that prices vary wildly for soil. I think we were charged 800 Baht per truck load for low-grade fill soil and 1,000 Baht for the decent topsoil.
I have no idea on the truck size so trying to be clever I checked my thread - and found that we had both six wheel (16 foot?) and 10 wheel (24 foot?) trucks delivering. I have no idea how they worked out the pricing...
Anyway, I see that that the Udon Dreamhouse's land was all filled in August last year. I hope he won't mind me saying I have faith that, as a Dutchman, he would have ensured that he had driven a good deal...

Soil or top quality soil, does it honestly even matter? You won't see it in the end anyway and if the plant's don't grow, throw some buffalo droppings on top and everything will be fine. Poor draining properties? Get yourself some pipes to fix it.
Nice thread, good luck with the build.
I'll give you a fookin' left ook if you come out with anymore of that!Originally Posted by Koetjeka

Agreed it doesn't make any difference at the building stage (which is why we used the cheap stuff) but it's got all sorts of rocks, some bordering on boulders, in it so for a top layer we may well splash out on the pricey stuff.
The thing is on a cost per truck I guess it's just what the local market dictates, as well as truck size...
That is exactly what it is....whatever the local market will bear. We have paid anywhere from 400 -550 per m3 for gravel locally over the past three months.Originally Posted by Roobarb
There were a couple of times when all the suppliers ran out because there are so many commercial projects going on in the area. We waited several days for gravel and of course paid the top price. The old supply and demand thing you know.
We have paid 250 per truck load for rocky fill and then the same for top soil....again timing and supply/demand.
You have to watch every load sometimes because when people excavate a pond they often sell off the soil. If you get the top layers you may get really good soil for growing things.....if you are down the line a bit you get the clay, shale and all kinds of crap from deep down in the hole, but you are expected to pay the same rates to the delivery trucks....
Our hin kook was 625 per cube
we started one week ago here is a update
we had to wait for a couple of day,s for the cement truck but now it can go on
Keep it coming !
Looks a nice solid foundation
