Hi ltnt ( is that short for lieutenant ? )
Posted this link on Betty's thread, you may not have seen it - no photobucket, just use TD

    Itnt ............

This is what I do for photos .

First send maybe 5 of them to Photobucket .

Next ..... in a separate tab open my Thread in Teakdoor.

Go to Recent Uploads in Photobucket to find the pictures . Double click in the photo to make it big . ( There may be shortcuts but this is what I do . )

Single Right Click inside the big photo and Click on " Copy Image URL " and then forget Photobucket .

Back to Teakdoor . Click in Post Reply and your writing box opens .

Write stunningly brilliant detailed and yet highly entertaining stuff . Or just write like Roobarb .

When you want your photo click on the Yellow Postcard at the top edge of the writing box .

Delete the rubbish that's inside the box and Press Ctrl V to paste in a line of text ( Your photo's URL ) .

Press OK and carry on writing .

Now when I look at these steps it looks a lot but they are just a few very small steps and you get very quick very quickly .
I'm sure life could be easier but it's honestly no big difficulty.

And you may know this stuff already !

Glad to see you are starting a building thread. You have chosen a part of Thailand that interests me for their cooler climate.

Curious to know your plans for the house in Phuket. From what you have written, it appears you still own it.

Good luck and keep plugging away at the pictures.

Actually Rick, this is an old retarded thread of mine I'm trying to resurrect again if I can figure out the retarded picture posting application. As per usual I cannot fathom the frigging thing.

The house is completed last year in 2014. The house in Phuket was sold in June of 2014 to Thai locals.

I will continue to pull my pud trying to uncover the secret doorway to posting pictures.

    Regards and HNY Rick.

Try loading directly into the Teak Door gallery. forget Photo bucket for now and try the Gallery.

Plenty of threads on how to do it, dam confusing though until one cracks it.

Use the Test page and just bang away at it.

Just an idea for those who want an easy life and have a FB account

You can just right click your FB pic , select copy image link , then paste that into the little yellow mountain box above after deleting the htpp; bit

It's not a retarded thread at all; the build threads are some of the best on TD - everybody appreciates the efforts an OP puts into it.

    For my pic uploading I:

    1) save pics to the desktop (actually, I have a folder on my desktop called Housepics).

    2) I goto the Teakdoor gallery and click on upload file.

    3) Then I browse my pics on the desktop Housepics folder and press the upload button; I usually do about 5 at a time

    4) Then I get a second Teakdoor tab up, and copy and paste across from my gallery.

It may not be the best way, but it works fine.

Good luck, may God be with you and your efforts...

I do the same for pictures BB and it seems to do the job. You may have to resize the pics to meet TD specs since most are too large.

For me I went to newbie section and read the how to post pics threads. Then I made hand written notes that I could somewhat follow. Then went into my pics on the pc and created a folder for pics I wanted to post to td. I then followed my notes, became completely frustrated, went for a bottle of Jimmy Beam and a chaser of Guinness. Managed to upload to the "my gallery" then to get them to the post. You can do it. You can Allways have the Beam now and play pic post later. Dont give up. Good luck to ya.

In Post #30 I wrote how I put in pictures.
When I read that Post myself it does look tedious .

    But it's not .

If I decide right now to put a picture in here it honestly takes less than one minute to send it to Photobucket , get the URL and so post the picture here .
I was as frustrated as you are with this process but these were the instructions Bettyboo gave me and they worked .

    Still do.

Many thanks for the encouragement. I shall continue the effort. I was trying to avoid the "photo bucket," as well the Gallery methods. I have co-mixed photo files and my greatest fear is downloading something very sensitive accidentally and not being able to retrieve it before it goes global. "business and financial data sources."

Nevertheless I'll give Betsy's method a whirl later, probably tomorrow. Thanks all!

The thing with getting a handle on posting pics is it can seem very confusing to the newbie who has never done it.

The TD gallery needs quite a few steps to get the pic up on the forum, must resize to 600-800 for starters to get a decent pic up. Can load ten at time though and once loaded they remain on this forum.

Its a real pain in the arse to crack it if not savy but once sorted its game on.

    Well worth the effort.

And yes we all love the Picture threads.

I'm sorry, I just don't see what all the hub-bub is over photobucket. I've been using it to post all my pics. Very easy on my laptop.

If you're worried about mixing pictures, just create a dedicated folder (on photobucket) for your house photos. And also before posting, preview your post, just to be sure you didn't f*** anything up or if you want to change some text, add additional comments, etc.

I got as far as point 3 which was an advance on previous attempts.
    Will try again tomorrow

Betty loads his pics into the Teakdoor gallery very differently than I do.

Not saying its wrong but just different, hence we have the problem of loading pictures.

    The system varies.

I'm going to be really simple here because I didn't realise that I wasn't alone having trouble with photos .

    So : How To post A Photo ( Betty's Original Method ).

1 Put your photo in Photobucket and then find it in Recent Uploads .....
it will look like this --

I'm going to Post that picture circled in Yellow.

So Double Left Click on the small image and I get this big image .

Righ Click once inside this image and I get a box of choices .

Left Click once on that second line down and basically that's it !!!

Go to your Teakdoor writing box . Click on that Postcard up there . It will look like this ....

It's important to DELETE that small bit of text in there that's highlighted in blue already . Just press Delete .
Then Ctrl V toPaste in the URL from Photobucket .

All you'll see will be a string of Text . But when you press " Save " to post your thoughts you will see your photo.

I have never used photo bucket, learned from the get go how to do it via the Teak-door gallery.

Quite a bit different but what ever works EH.
