Who would have thought it would have finished up like this when you first started ?and the ground you planted will be twice as fertile when the peanuts are harvested ,a definite 10 out of 10 to you and your willing workmen

BTW I forgot to add I would feed them with pellets too as they will soon hammer everything in sight if you stock it with a good number of fish.

Just discoverd the Thread about your beautiful Pond project. Looks very nice!

I saw that you planted lots of Pinto Beans around that pond.
Some years ago I ordered lots of pinto seeds from Austrailia but they did'nt grow.

Culd you tell me where you got your plants from?

There are many of farms growing pinto beans in tambon mea-one on route 118 Chiag Mai - Chiang rai highway

Current price anywhere between 0.5 - 1 baht per plant. Depands on qty and your bargening skills

    Good effort.

But all the 'before' photos are gone.

Post one up from the same vantage so we can compare.

I also have a leaky dam so I am thinking about some kind of earthworks engineering with clay.

Aircut... That looks very good. I see so many ponds that have high berms so it is nice to see a more naturally sculpted look. Do you have any fish in it yet? Our sex reverse Tilapia are around 24 inches long after we stopped harvesting them. Never realized they got that big and all the fish add life to the pond and house.

thailazer, we introduced edible river snails (Hoi Kom) (หอยขม), ghost shrimp and barbs. as the pond life and vegetation is getting healthy we will introduce more species....

Nice result, the before and after photos are very impressive.

Is it going to take a lot of maintenance to keep it like that? I mean if human intervention goes away will it quickly revert back to the way it was or is the pond kind of permanent now?

I think if you send a PM asking then they can allow the old posts to be edited. If not you could put the pics into the gallery (if you are a patient person!) and ask them to add the links into the old posts for you.

It's definitely worth the effort because it's a good thread imho and well documented.

Thanks you, No maintenance is planned whatsoever, the pond has and underground stream that fills it with fresh water, the overflow flows to the river.
