In Thailand, where the construction (of a pool) is quite cheap and easy with local builders, one does not need to spend a big money paid to a company of a worldwide name for an overpriced pool.

Only in a case when the wife does not want another diamond ring (but can surely be persued ) and the Mercedes for her is safely parked in an a/ced garage.

I could have written a book with what happened with the "construction" of this "pool"

At the end of the day it is useable and looks ok, but it was expensive, supposed to take a tenth of the time to fit than what it took and is very poorly designed. (4 x spa jets on a step, great design and unusable!)
I would have been far better going with a concrete and tile pool but didn't want to take the time and endure the mess so paid a premium for a piece of fibreglass.
I was "amazed" at the low standard of work, I have had pools before and have done a lot of building in Thailand, they consistently tried to fob me off with the lowest standard possible, after complaints they would change, I am sure most pools they install are just accepted as people have no idea of "standards"!

Firstly the main thing is they are fucking expensive for everything. They also tend to install equipment that means you have to go to them for any small parts so they can then take your eyes out and I mean take your eyes out. The skimmer / filter pump packed in and they wanted 24,000 Baht to replace it. I eventually replaced it after altering the pipework for 6000 Baht.
It also is a liner pool and the liner is now coming away from the bottom and sides so needs to be replaced with tiles. They do guarantee the liner for 5 years but only if you use their chemicals which of course cost 4 times the cost of any other supplier.
The other main consideration is the cleaning.
The pool has now become the bane of my life.
Every morning I get up and have to fish out all the dead things that have landed in it at night. Put the pool lights on and it attracts flying things from all over all intent on drowning themselves in my pool.
If it is windy or there is a storm then you have half the fucking jungle in the pool. They are a nightmare to keep clean and if you are going to be away a lot then you are going to need to get a pool guy in as the Missus will soon get sick of doing it I can assure you.
For the amount of times I actually use it I'm often tempted to either fill it in or fill it with Prawns to grow and eat

For me my advice would be to think long and hard and go for a tiled pool over a lined pool.
    Good luck !

So here I am having a nice quiet morning cup of coffee.

There's not much interesting building going on so I wandered into this Thread just to have a nosey . No intention of contributing in any way .

But I have to say ... I mean I HAVE to say .... I think this is a crisply brilliant little diatribe from The Big Fella !
A succinct observation that would put me off getting a pool forever !

And very funny Big Feller !

Read what I wrote, at the end of the day it is ok, though the poor design will always be there!
I could post pictures and everyone would say how wonderful it looks now it is landscaped etc.
My point was it took months! more to fit than it was supposed to and the standard was poor, which I never accepted! If I had accepted the poor standard then I would post pictures. Again I am sure others just accepted what was installed?

Have you had previous dealing with this company? or are you really that concerned about "all members" ?
    Cheers

I was hopping that you had picture from the installation
I know after the landscaping is finished it look OK but you know the faults with the pool.
I don't like it when you pay for a job & you end up with crap.

I have sent you a PM Airpotwo.

    Thanks for the picture Airportwo.
Bellagio pools are not fibreglass pool builder they buy pools shells from Navinda pools

Normal fibreglass pool installation should take 5-6 days.

List the defects corrected would be a start. Right now its just a moan without substance imo. I don't doubt you but it certainly would be helpful with pictures of the contractor's crap workmanship? I would think you would have documented them for future use if failures occurred?

^Oops! is this the pool install as it is currently? How much for this install materials and labor all in?

I have to say I was very pleased with the installation, things went down hill rapidly afterwards though.

    the pool is fine.

so far both pumps and the salt water thingy have shit themselves.

Luckily for me it only took a matter of months for the salt water thingy problem to be agreed upon, and now it's almost a year since the salt water thingy was being replaced.

Luckily for me I had enough money to replace the 1st pump when it shit itself otherwise I'd have had a toad pond by the time it was replaced.

Luckily for me I still have replacement pump #1 to replace the jacuzzi pump, although I have never mentioned that this one has shit itself.

Luckily for me my 'good Australian branded pumps' that I paid for turned out to be no name pieces of Chinese crap otherwise I'd have been able to get them repaired.

Then there was the problem with the jacuzzi jets, but that was fixed. When I get the jacuzzi pump replaced I'll find out if they still work.

Then there was the problem with the lights.....fukk this, I need a beer!
I would post pictures but life's too short.

Damn, that's some scary shit. I was very close to building a pool here in Vientiane , took months to get quotes for the fucker and finally when I decided what I wanted I was made redundant from my job, that and the shitty exchange rate when the Aussie dollar took a nosedive I decided to put it on hold, fibreglass pool is not an option here so it would of been concrete, daft Lao conts, if they hadn't of fucked around so long with the info I would of been committed, getting hot now, sure could of used a nice pool.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Popular doesn't always mean topnotch quality. Maybe you could also try contacting PoolMaster? They are affiliated with Isaan Pools and they offer quality pool supplies and makes sure that everything gets installed properly. Been using them since 2012 for salt chlorinators, pump, etc. Would be keen to know any update on what happened with regards to your pool. It will be helpful. Cheers.
