    Audio driver problems, windows 7

I have just changed my windows to 7 professional (genuine) and now I have no sound.
the Realtek audio driver is showing as enabled and working properly but there is nothing....

I have been googling since last night and it seems to be a common problem with Windows 7. I have tried many of the *solutions* but to no avail.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers, DsD.

    Start with Unknown Device Identifier

Then, when you're sure you've installed the latest and most compatible hardware, go into Control Panel and click on Sounds, and make sure everything is on and turned up. (i.e. don't just use the standard mixer).

Specifically, check the pull downs to see if you have a choice of devices available.
