3 Indonesians named Internet heroes

Google Chrome singled out three Indonesian web heroes in September to show that the online world was an unlimited media -- not only for searching and browsing, but also to make a difference.
The heroes are Dani Kusuma, who created an email account, lia.tersayang[at]gmail.com, when her daughter was born.
She sends an email every day to her daughter to express how much she loves her. She kept up with it until her daughter's 7th birthday, when she showed her all the emails she had sent.
The second hero is Valencia Randa, who established a virtual community of blood donors called Blood for Life due to her concern with the limited supply of blood at the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI).
Every time a member needs blood, she or he only has to post a message of what type of blood was needed, which would be forwarded by other members to get the blood supply. The community has changed the conventional concept of family from consisting of only a mother, father, uncle or aunt, when the donor recipients wrote, “Now you are family, since your blood runs in my child’s body."
The third hero is Indonesia Berkebun (Indonesia Farm), initiated by Ridwan Kamil and Shafiq Pontoh, which encourages people to utilize their empty land for farming.
In six months, the movement had spread to 14 cities.
Shafiq expected the stories of web heroes to inspire people to try to bring change using the internet.
“People can do anything according to their passions; the Internet will make it easier,” Henky Prihatno, Google Indonesia's Country Consultant, said on Friday as quoted by kompas.com.
