    Download Youtube and Google Videos

    Untitled Document

    YouRipper 2.0 (FREEWARE)
YouRipper is a small, easy to use utility which enables the end-user to download videos from the YouTube and Google Video websites.

The popular video website YouTube unfortuantely does not provide options to download the videos hosted there. Fortunately, YouRipper is a small, easy to use utility which enables the end-user to download videos from the YouTube website. No fuss, no messing around. Just paste the URL of the YouTube webpage you want to rip into YouRipper and the video, in Flash Movie flv format is downloaded onto the end-users system.
New to version 2.0 of YouRipper is a slick new interface and the ability to download and save videos in FLV format from Google Video too.
Please have a read of the documentation before downloading.

If you have Dreamweaver then you can embed the FLV file into a webpage and watch it.

I saw some other free utilities which would convert flv files to wmv & avi formats.

Real Player has a built in download function that will work on Red tube, Youtube and even some streaming video like internet TV. But will only play back through Realplayers own player. Piss easy to use. One mouse click does it.

You can also drag those Flash videos from your temporary internet files and drop them onto desktop. You will need FLV player or GOM player to play back though.

GOM player covers nearly all codecs. And its free.

Just tried to download YouRipper and it keeps coming up with the following:

    Not Found

The requested URL /youripper20.exe was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    Apache/2.2.8 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.8 OpenSSL/0.9.8b DAV/2 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 PHP/4.4.8 Server at downloads.remlapsoftware.com Port 80

What the fuck does that mean?

I get the same error on every site I've tried !!

For Windows, Zoom Player is excellent and plays all the most common video files.

Zoom Player is capable of playing all common media formats and quite a few of the not so common, including:
AVI, Matroska (MKV), QuickTime (MOV), Cellphone 3GPP (3GP), Flash (SWF), RealMedia (RA/RM/RMVB/RAM), Windows Media Format (ASF/WMV/WMA including DRM with WMV Professional version), OGG Movie (OGM), MPEG-1 (MPG/VCD), MPEG-2 (MPG/SVCD/VOB), MPEG-4 (DIVX/XVID/ISO), VP3-VP6, MPEG Layer 3 (MP3), Vorbis Audio (OGG), Dolby Digital (AC3), Advanced Audio Coding (AAC), MusePack Audio (MPC), FLAC Audio (FLAC), OptimFROG Audio, Monkey Audio (APE), True Audio (TTU), Wave Audio (WAV), CD-Audio.
    Inmatrix.com - Zoom Player Download

If you run a GNU/Linux OS any video player should work.

how to rip/ save youtube videos...

now the end result will be a .flv file, not a .wmv .mov or .avi etc.
first, you need the YT video id.

so, go find the YT video you want to watch then get it's id. e.g. :

    wUX194UUB_g

the YT video id in this cae is: wUX194UUB_g, now in your browser head off to the address:

    https://www.youtube.com/v/wUX194UUB_g

you'll get back this long URL in your browser window: e.g.

    https://www.youtube.com/swf/l.swf?vid...jhA25b3noerV5q

what you need to extract is the &t= variable. this is the tracking id & is at the end of the URL and it's this: e.g. OEgsToPDskIMwObPvvjhA25b3noerV5q
next, point your browser to this URL and replace the ID and T_ID with the file id and tracking id:

    e.g. https://www.youtube.com/get_video?video_id=ID&t=T_ID

    so thats: e.g. https://www.youtube.com/get_video?vid...jhA25b3noerV5q

now just change the saved file name to something you like & don't forget to add .flv at the end.

then you'll need to convert it to a standrad playable format (.wmv .mov .avi). i use PAZERA, but up to you what you wanna use!

yep, a bit of a convoluted manual solution... but what the heck... it works!
