No, it's about the iwank, whenever someone criticises it you go into rabid defensive mode.
Why do you give a fuck what anyone thinks about an electronic device.
Are you being paid to promote it?
What was your question?

It's funny, as I've pointed out several times that I don't give a fuck what someone else runs, but in fact pointed several times that different platforms serve different purposes.
For example Nokias are great phones in under developed countries, or for really old people. They have buttons.
Android is an awesome platform for tinkerers and those people that don't care if their personal information and data is exposed and available for the taking by malicious programs -- since this is common-place, it comes as no surprise that for the most part Windows users, particularly luddite Windows users, seem to embrace it.
iPhone is for those who want access to technology, wrapped in simplicity, and usually also the smarter and more affluent people - as such, I am entirely in favor of iPhone not being for certain people, and don't understand why those who themselves claim iPhone is not for them, give a toss about what other people prefer? In fact, I found that most of the ridicule comes from the dumber and more penny pinching people, so seeing them excluded seems appropriate anyway.
In all of these threads, there is a very strong undercurrent of envy and hate -- not for iProducts, but against those who are smart enough to use them. This is confusing - after all, what do people that proclaimed they do not want to use an iPhone (Hey, whatever, up to them, right?) care that others do?
So, why don't you pose your question to them?
No, really, Tex - why are some people absolutely rabid in their attempts and desire to disrupt and troll into Apple related threads?
You don't have an answer, do you?

I've had a Windows Mobile for years now because I am a bit of a gadget lover. People used to laugh at the size of it before phones with touch screens caught on. In old age I've learned to resist the latest flashy gadgets with features which look really cool but don't add much to the usability. My last purchase was a second hand HTC with built in satnav and wifi.
Apps I use frequently include Tomtom, pocket word, pocket powerpoint, and activesync an transcriber.
Transcriber in particular is great handwriting recognition software which comes with the operating system and I wouldn't be without it. I can scribble a text message which is barely legible and it gets it perfect 9 times out of 10.
Synchronising all my contacts, to dos, and calendar entries with Outlook on my PC is important to me.
Occasionally I use the camera, calculator, unit converter and thai-English dictionary. To be honest I find all these megapixel cameras on phones are crap, you just don't get the controls to take decent pictures.
So a second hand phone which looked brand new with Tomtom preinstalled and built in GPS for £150 plus around £10/month pay as you go. The wifes needs are simpler and I bought her the cheapest phone Orange were doing that charged via usb (I hate having different chargers everywhere). It was £7 and has a camera and touch screen, will last several days on one charge. She uses around £5 credit a month. Compares well to $3,000 for 24months TCO for the latest iPhone/Android devices being quoted on another thread doesn't it? I've just remembered a freeware app I used to have which would dial any of your contacts on a landline by holding the windows mobile device next to the handset. It does it by emitting the tones to dial the number (so I'm a cheapskate)
My works Blackberry synchronises emails (badly), gives me corporate instant messaging, and lts me use terminal services to logon to a remote computer. Hate the keyboard, prefer the handwriting recognition on my HTC

You really are deluded. In all of these threads, there is a very strong undercurrent of envy and hate --
Quack Quack, apple used to build nice products, but that was when Steve Jobs wasn't at the top, sadly, the company lack of marketing skills put it on the edge of bankruptcy and that gave an opportunity for Steve Jobs to come back
Marketing wise he did a fantastic job but the products have turned to shit, overpriced gadget for AOL teenagers who forgot to grow up
I really like APNDroid, which allows me to simply disable my APNs when travelling so I don't run up extortionate roaming charges.
APNdroid - No More Billing Heart Attacks - Testing Android Apps - AndroidPIT
Is there such an app in the Apple Appstore?
Daffy?
(Oh, I forgot. And it's FREE)
Oooh I found another one as well. It's called APN on-off Widget.
It's also free.
Quickly disable 3G/EDGE/GRPS with one click and displays the current connection status.
I might switch to this, it's tiny.
Oh, apparently Froyo (Android 2.2) has this feature.
Added: Well bugger me if there isn't a feature in 2.1 to toggle data services when roaming. In Froyo, there is a new option under Settings -> Wireless & Network Settings -> Mobile Networks called Data enabled/disabled, which is a much direct approach than changing the APN.
Prefer a one-touch widget though.

Another useful one, if you want to actually see what your data usage is, is 3G Watchdog.
This will let you set a cap (if your provider does), and will alert you when you use it all up, so you can decide if you want to continue.
Comes in App and Widget form as well.
For Android, anyway.
Oh, and it's FREE.
Here's a nice app if you like to listen to radio on your Android
RadioTime: "Enjoy the largest selection of radio in the world, now with more than 30000 stations streaming live. You'll find hundreds of music formats, talk personalities, national networks like BBC, NPR and SWR, podcasts, live sports, news, weather, even scanners." RadioTime v2.3 Application for Android | Multimedia
Costs $2.99 but worth every penny
P.S You'll need to use Google Checkout
Definitely if you use a wifi/vpn connection. Otherwise, I've no idea
Drag & drop this RadioTime link into your address bar (Clicking it doesn't seem to work) and see if you can pick up 5 Live on your computer.
BBC R5L - BBC Radio 5 live 909 AM London - Listen Online
