Who wants to try a streaming experiment?

Ive been messing around with some streaming software and I would like to try an experiment. Im streaming stuff from the UK and would like to see what the quality is like when/if picked up in Thailand.

This could be a workaround for listening to radio 5 Live in Thailand as it gets blocked there on a Saturday/footy games. This has worked on a local network from my Mac to my dads Vista lappie running Windows Media Player.

Im not promising much at the moment, Im just testing.

Interested applicants PM me for stream details.

Download the BBC iPlayer - then you can listen live to all of their radio stations, plus they keep a library of many programmes that you can catch up with. The television stations are not available here in Thailand. Happy listening!!

what software are you using to encode ? codec ? are you just doing audio ? how many kbits ?

I am not that interested in your pommy sportscasts but I will be willing to help you get it online for the other pommy cnuts on this board

give me a dyndns addy , port number and protocol.
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

Im using a trial version of Nicecast, it broadcasts the sound from the computer so no need for pointless crap like protocols, port numbers and dyndns addy's to make it seem like Im some sort of tech hero. All you need is the stream info which you put in your browser and iTunes/Winamp/Media Player will pick it up.

Im a bit busy today so I might try it on Saturday when 5 Live is on.

wat a waste of time.....why listen to the radio when u can watch live football on your laptop
go to myp2p and get the website up.....then load a few software fromt he software tabs i usggest sopcast tvu and tv ants and maybe veetle...

search for the football on the football tab and click the tv link then watch the downlload page load up and click on the best media player link possible with english commentary as some have multi languages....sopcast is often the best or setanta and then wait for the buffer to load up often a few minutes and ur in...i watch all games when im in nz and the ones that are on too late here in thailand for the bar

Don't waste your time with these spyware ridden programs!

I use P2P4U - Free Live Sports on your PC, Live Football, MLB, NBA, NHL and more... and it's pretty comprehensive.

Only downside is the rights holders diving in to interrupt the streams occasionally (the b*stards!) , but it's better than not having it at all.

Way too sexy for its shirt...
