    Program for comparing files?

Is there a freeware program that will let me compare files on my comp with files on a CD or thumbdrive to check which files are new? I always get things screwed up when saving things and end up taking a long time to resave all my files. I'd rather just pic out the new files from my comp and send them to my backup on the CDs and thumbdrive. Any ideas for a tool which will check all the folders and tell me what is different?

You can use the DOS command xopy to do this...

    C:> xcopy c:\data\*.* d:\data\*.* /d/e/y/v

This syntax will copy newer versions of files from the source to the destination, in all subdirectories, will verify the file copy and will not prompt to overwrite existing files...

rsync is teh ducks nuts but unless your thumbdrive is plugged to another machine I don't think it will work

deltacopy is a windows gui version of rsync DeltaCopy - Rsync for Windows

or buy yourself a 30-50USD case with rj45 network port in it and drop a drive in and use NASbackup
    Introduction - NasBackup
