    WIFI Camera doorbell recommendations

Looking at buying a camera doorbell and looking for recommendations.

Preferably subscription free and one that doesn't send 20 notifications a night of next doors cat on the prowl.

They seem to be all the rage nowadays.

In the absence of a noisy dog and planning plenty of holidays, home security is at the back of my mind.

    So what are members recommendations??
    Shalom

My sister had one installed at my mother’s home, that she monitors.

My mother put a piece of tape over the camera.

The guys at the ranch have a camera that monitors the main gate.

It’ll will alert you when cars/trucks/tractor-trailers/School bus’s/motorcycles/bike riders/deer/(edit: some big birds) will pass by.

The guys adjusted the motion sensitivity of the camera. Doesn’t alert you to everything now.

Mendy just installed a cctv camera activated by movement. I think you will find it’s nothing but trouble.

^ It's so sensitive that plants blowing in the wind, the pond water rippling and flying bugs give movement alerts and there's no way to adjust sensitivity.

It's not activated by movement but records all the time and when movement is detected, separate 10 second video clips are also recorded elsewhere.

I've turned off notifications and just find the recorded video of exciting events, such as me catching a big catfish

I think it’s rather ironic that person who spent the most time having a go at Cryille wanting home cctv is now himself asking about home cctv…

The RING systems have a lot of positive reviews and the video records I have seen are quite good.

I have a ZOSI wired camera security system and I can watch things over the web in real time. All 4 cameras record onto a hard drive with about a week of records. Already helped arrest an individual causing a bit of problem on our street.

Yeah I'm looking forward to his input on the subject.

    Surely not, that's painful!

There's gotta be a better system.

My BiL put in a Ring for my old man who's is in his 90's.

They set it so the BiL gets the alert for the call and vets it first, then tells my old man if he needs to answer the door.

There's been a few "sorry wrong houses", etc., which just as likely could be these scum that go around robbing old folk.

Says it works like a charm.

Ring devices don’t require a Ring Protect subscription plan. Without a subscription, you can view real-time video for Ring doorbells and security cameras and answer doorbell notifications as they happen. However, without a Ring Protect plan, you won't get video recordings of those events."

Most nowadays are wifi to house and do not require a subscription and most are also linked to their specific phone app. I don't have a need for a doorbell cctv but have heard from a few of my friends in the states that RING is good. Check out Amazon. Lots of reviews on various models.

I would definitely try and find a stand alone model where you install a micro SD that just loops and records and you have the vid in the event something happens.

    Get married again too.

Then I can spend five years making up stupid shit about you watching your wife fuck other men.

    In your garden.

    It'll be a right laugh.

    Apology accepted.

What cctv did you use for your front door when you was away shagging camels in the Saudi desert?

Joe, Xiaomi pond camera has the option of a subscription to save the digital video to the cloud but's not compulsory or necessary. I stuck in a 120 GB SD card and the camera records onto that on a loop, same as a dashcam.
