    MaxNet Double Speed

As reported elsewhere, MaxNet has this "Double Speed" promotion where subscribers who have been with them for at least a year get twice the bandwidth they originally signed up for. So far, they've called us twice and sent us paper mail about the service. I haven't actually noticed much difference, so I decided to check:

Sure enough, I'm now getting about twice the throughput as before. What really amazed me was the good bandwidth to the test server in Houston.

yes, they bumped me to 2mb a couple of months ago.
it's the torrent download speeds that you really notice.

    gone from 100kb/s maximum to 200 +

^It's going in the right direction for us.
MrsQ will be going in the other direction when moving back to Thailand.
I'll give him 5 of the same smilies when he comes back.

^^I had the choice to double speed or save money on True. I decided to save money cos I really don't have time to watch all the stuff I download on 100 kb. I'm not really fussed if a film is ready to watch in an hour or a day, as I probably won't watch it for a couple of weeks anyway.

They ain't upped my speed yet and I been on it for 3 years, but I also heard that it is if you pay yearly instead of monthly, but the one I have is maxnet4life and not the home one. maybe thats the diff.

There will be a change in speed by 30 september, according to a note I received in the post today.
    More about that further down..

My 1024/512 became 2048/1024 two month ago, and was so for a week until I got connected to another connection point.
(I had some problems during rainy and windy weather and the old connection point was very far away.)
At the new connection, I got 2048/832, sometimes 2048/896, so I complained
The technician explained that double speed was only for the down traffic, something I had to accept but with a lot of doubt especially since I had it on the up traffic on the old connection point..

The note I received today seems to confirm what he told me, here are the figures.
Columns are Subscribed speed, Old double speed, New double speed.

    256/128 , 512/256, 1024/512
    512/256 , 1024/512, 1536/512
    1024/512, 2048/512, 2560/512
    2048/512, 4096/512, 4096/512

The table also shows that the highest upload speed is limited to 512Kbps.

It's the same old TT&T but they have changed their name to TripleT.
Have their own international gateway and a tight cooperation with China Telecom and Huawei.

Thats the same one I got, maybe since I changer from MAXNET HOME 512/256 to MAXNET4 life 256/128 and maybe it will be a year for that.
but the price was also from 800 baht to 1450 baht a month.
But it was a lot better than the MAXNET HOME was.

I have MaxNet4Home 512/256. Usually sucks on the weekend, but it's pretty good now. Finally good enough for torrents and decent Skype audio quality.

None of them are available now for new subscribers.
    They are now called @indy , @premier, and @biz.

Changing the package type should not reset your total subscription time so you are entitled to get double speed.

And before 30 of september they will double the speed for all subscribers,
and those who has been with Maxnet for 12 month will get an additional rise.

I had expected to get the same rise to 2560Kbs as CMN got but I got even more , 3072Kbs.
Got to love them sometimes when you not hate them

Btw, i was at @life for a few month but didn't find it worth the money. I went back to @home and couldn't see any difference except on the bill..

I have had ADSL since they put it in out here, 3 years now, but a friend over the other side of town was bumped up a couple months ago, and he has only been on just over a year, he used to bring his laptop over here and plug into my router USB port so he could download and use skype to talk to his business in swiss landia.

    here, now

You'd think an ISP would be able to code a simple web page, right?

I've called them a couple of times. They do have support people who speak English. But, have had no need to call them in well over a year.
