I used a Piratte Bay download of Win 7 once and it worked great. Second time it was loaded with malware, you're taking a big gamble with online pirated copies. Better off just dropping a few bux on a legit copy.

I might do a fresh install of WinXP on that Vista laptop,

still the best OS ever, so why upgrade, and it's secure

thank god I have the retail version of XP, so can install anywhere

Windows 7.13 I have good memories of.
Windows 8 I could not get rid of quick enough.
    There was no Windows 9.
Windows 10 was FREE and Windows tried to rectify its mistakes of the past. IT WAS ALSO MY 1ST LEGAL COPY.
    No criticisms from me.

Well there was, sort of, only they called it 8.1.

But the damage had already been done, so it was never going to take off.

Well where can I buy a lappy with a licensed copy running EA 7

Your telling me Toshiba Asus Acer and the like, You can walk into a store buy a brand new laptop and ask for one without win10 ?

Nine years after he first took his case against Windows OEM HP (who originally sold him a PC and Windows software as a bundle) to court, Florence resident Marco Pieraccioli succeeded in having the cost of software license repaid. The decision could set a precedent, speeding up other complaints about hardware and software bundling, but replicating Pieraccioli's success could prove to be more difficult than you might think.

EA stands for Enterprise Agreement you Mong.

FFS you clearly don't know what you're on about, so why keep trying to prove it?

That's because people like Buttplug want to put an old copy of XP on them to save some money; it's hard when you're on a mediocre HR clerk's salary.

I switched to Mint after they upgraded my laptop from win 7 to 10 without asking. Haven't looked back since. Very similar to 7 without malware worries and it's free. MS should have quit after 7.

They've been quietly selling laptops with Linux for years.

In Thailand it's just that they can make a few baht putting a pirate Windows on and charging you for a licensed one.
