This so fuckin much. Giant bottleneck and 99% of the internet is on the other side of thailand international gateway thingy.

This is what I have with 3BB, cant remember what I pay but its around there I think.

IMO, like Dragonfly said, the gateway is the bottleneck. I haven't gotten a package any higher than this because I don't think there will be a speed increase.

indeed, it's completely pointless to have "Gigabit" Internet as we call it here in Europe (1Gb Fiber), since the whole fucking network packets will go through that ridiculous government Gateway that is checking the millions of selfies and Facebook posts from your average Thai retard

it's basically like being in a giant classroom full of youtube watching kids with everyone sharing the same internet connection,

    Farang oWNED!!!

    200/80 Mbps 1,200

    Which one is adequate?
I was on the 20/10 package and upgraded to the 200/80 package a couple of weeks ago. Using www.speedtest.net I regularly get download speeds above 90 Mb/s from servers outside of Thailand while using a VPN.

I went with the top package because we will be ditching True Visions soon and will start using streaming services and downloads.

    VPN company and server location?

I have the 50/10 and stream everything in Thailand. Kodi. Netflix in Ultra HD with VPN enabled to USA. No probs.

Express VPN to Singapore sometimes gives me speed increase and their Colorado server location unblocks Netflix.

    I am also using ExpressVPN.

    Did this test just now:

    ExpressVPN location is Jurong, Singapore.

    My current speeds are
    Downloads - 8.63. With VPN 0.25
    Uploads - 0.34. With VPN 0.12
and I'm paying 590 a month for that. So a 30/15 Mbps 590 Baht package should be a significant speed increase I assume?

here on Fiber will give you a download speed of at least 100mb/sec not 1mb/sec

that's in megabytes, not megabit in case you are wondering

you can download full DVD in a few minutes,

What is the advertised speed for your current package? Thats pretty shit if testing locally to BKK or whatever within Thailand. Assume thats a 10/? line?

Yea 30/15 would be significant, but probably wont tell a difference with basic surfing. Web pages will most likely load the same. DL Torrents will be faster and youtube etc.. Heavy stuff.

Ignore the test above, I didn't have the VPN turned on.

Below is the test to Baltimore through ExpressVPN set to a Singapore server.

your VDSL speed will depend on how far you are from the DSLAM , how oversubscribed the route is , the age of the copper and how much of a fcukwith somchai the wire twister togetherer was when he hooked up the telephone cables

    your fibre will work

On True fibre I get on two tests

    Download 16.2 Up 17.2
    Down 17.2 Up 1.69

    Both tests from Sing.

OK for me as the most important for me is torrents and the best I've seen for them is around 1.8 Mb

This torrent speed is with the VPN on or off?

On my 3bb connection I get like 4.5ish with VPN off, on torrents with a lot of seeders. Never used the VPN for torrenting.

I think I might upgrade mine to the 100 speed from 3bb when I get home.
