My Downloads file seems to be missing in 'Libraries'. Anyone know an idiot proof way to restore it please?

Download a new picture being careful to remember its file name. Then, search for the file and it will be in your download folder. Then, when you have found your download folder, move it to Library. The chances are that you have not deleted your download folder just dragged it to another place.

I downloaded some picture recently and they just went straight in to Pictures file.

I had the same thing happen a while ago. Was an easy enough fix. Though can't remember now.

Will be sober in the morning and will probably remember then. It wasn't a difficult thing.

the download folder has disappeared.

Check the settings in your browser(s). You will be able to change the location there, or see where it has been moved to and move it back if necessary.

For example:
Firefox - settings > download location _________ (change)

Chrome.
chrome://settings > download location _________ (change)
