    Laptop help

I have been having lots of problems with laptop lately ( Asus Windows 8 ) and before I take it to to a computer repair shop I thought I would ask here first ( maybe a bad move ) about what my options are. I can't seem to do much with it, I open programs and they freeze, some just don't open, they will close on their own, it can take an age to boot up. I have installed anti malware and spyware . What would my options be , such as a reboot or new hard drive. The laptop is about 2 years old so I would like to get it sorted rather than buying a new one....

    Cheersio

Take it into your nearest Indian corner repair shop and give him a tenner to stick a clean version of XP on it. Cheap and always works. Till you fuck it up again that is

Yeah you can still get Windows 10 with a bootlegged copy of Windows 7

What you wanna do is go into Windows update and make sure everything is up to date. You will then see the Get Windows 10 icon on your taskbar.

Before doing that try a system restore to an earlier time, if you've set that up

A bootlegged "7" is a can of worms. Dapper suggestion would make sense. Good luck.

ps: Asus or Acer ? re: the laptop in question

get rid of as many old links you have put on your desktop and uninstall all the programmes you never use

download "ccleaner" free. its very simple to set up and use.

run it to analyse and clean all the residual shite.

then use it to scan the registry and clean.

then download "jrt" junkware removal tool ( free), its a malwarebytes programme and run it.

hopefully you may now find your computers performance has improved.

    It's probably royally fucked.

You need a clean installation of Windows 7.

Then you need to upgrade it to Windows 10.

Don't even think of XP unless you want it fucked up again in no time.

    Indeed.

Move everything off the desktop in to the C or D drive, and then just send a shortcut to the desktop.

Go to the Start button, type msconfig into the search button and press enter. Click the 'start up' tab and uncheck everything.

You probably have about 200 programs starting at start up.

I think its overheating to solve that problem with my laptop i wired up another fan underneath.Only one small problem when the fan kicks in the laptop spins around so you have to pick it up sharpish or your coffee cup gets knocked over.

You can get a laptop fancooler for 80b. Plugs into the USB, the Laptop sits ontop and and a a fan or two underneath keeps it relatively cool.

I know but i spent 1000 baht on a laptop repair course at Pantip Plaza so wanted to test out my new skills, got a certificate at the end of the course as well.
Besides 80 baht is the cost of a large bottle of beer in 7/11 and i would rather have a beer than spend the baht on a cooling fan.

You can get 2nd hand PC's that will work for most things you need for 3-5k.

XP is the last bastion of free computing and it still works and most likely will for a few years to come.

Cheap and simple solution. That's obviously if it works on a 2 year old laptop.
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

And after that, you can go down the pub.
