New Internet Fraud Line 1559 Set up by Police

The Royal Thai Police has warned internet users about scams and fraud which are taking place via dating, chatting and social networking sites such as Facebook.
BANGKOK – April 23, 2014 [PDN]:
At 12.00, Pol.Maj.Gen. Anucha Romyanan, the vice spoke man of the Royal Thai police office, Said that Pol.Gen. Adul Sangsingkaeo, the commissioner general, who is the chairman of operation center of Royal Thai police office meeting, thanked people who gave information on the 1599 hotline about internet fraud.
In the past there have been many complaints about women tricking men through dating and matching web sites or social network such as Facebook to transfer money.
The center has received many complaints and information about internet fraud and on ways to help each other on preventing it.
The Royal Thai Police officers are concerned about fellow citizens to be more careful in the use of communication channels via the computer and not to give out too much information over the internet.
If anyone suspects a scam or is being scammed they should report it to the police or the new hotline which has been set up and is open 24hours.
