What sort of money is a PS3 going to cost in Thailand?

Also are the games region free - can you play UK games on a unit purchased in Thailand?

yeah i'm just doing a bit of research for my sons (lol) xmas pressie.

They seem to be flashed in some cases dunno if that affects online play i know it does with the xbox. Also, they games are no cheaper here either, and you can get used games cheap as ships in the uk.

hopefully someone who has had theirs flashed will have an idea. they games are pretty big so i dont know how many you'd get on a say 160gb ps3.

Just had a look on the other channel and they were 10,000 baht at MBK mate.

If it's been Jailbroken you cannot play online though.

XBox 360 with Kinect is a better bet. And you can get it chipped and pick up the games for a song.

I had a ps3 in the UK and want to stick to it, but, i'll certainly have a look at 360 prices though - cheers.

seems games on ps3 are region free so i'll get cheap pre owned ones sent from the uk and just splurge on the worthwhile ones.

I had a load of problems with the XBox 360.

If you get it chipped and go online and play copied games you will get banned

Also them cheap discs scratch easy and put a lot of stress on the laser that reads them

I had to offload mine to some Tefler in Bangkok and change my Sim Card

Certain games, like 2player sports games are worth buying because you can play them over and over again online or with mates. Tiger Woods, PES and Fifa for example.

Get pre owned versions of games such as Unchartered and Saints Row.
Those such games can be completed in 48 hours and are only worth renting in the UK and the price nosedives on them too

I bought a water damaged Blackberry which the guy put a new Fascia on to make it look new and a Touchscreen PC with no fan inside it, so I just stick a big standing fan behind it now, oh the disc drive has been removed too, just an empty slot there. Barstards

Give the reason for sale, moving back to the UK.That way you can just send the Mrs to the door when they come back trying to knock your door down

i didn't get a laptop in the end, but still need to.

the problem i've got is that I only need something fairly basic but my lad is just starting to show an interest in computers - mainly for games. So I wanted something i can do a bit of work on / download films and hat he cold play games on.

The Mrs. doesnt want him to just have a console in the hope that he develops an interest in computers - fair enough. Thinking about it though it's just not practical, so I think I'll get us a PS3 for xmas and just get myself a really cheap lowspec new laptop for what I need. It;ll end up costing about the same as if I got a decent multi purpose laptop new and it means there wont be any issues about him using laptop when I need it. Plus I get a PS3.

Just tell her it's a BluRay DVD player and make sure you include a copy of some crap Thai movie on BluRay (you can buy them, I saw them in Patts a couple of weeks ago).
