    I'm a bit browned off!

I've been playing around with the missus and her bits n pieces, and it turns out that her Galaxy S2 is miles better than my Sony Xperia mini. I want an S2 now...

Why buy your missus an expensive phone and yourself a cheap one.

^^looked at one but it's just getting silly.

S2 is about as big as you can really carry in your pocket and has more than enough shite on it for a phone too.

Any bigger and may as well get a pad.

Bollocks the S2 is absolutely miniscule!

I'm carrying around a Note with an expansion battery and it fits comfortably inside a suit pocket. Sticks out in jeans though.

Its wasn't so long ago you were singing the praises of the Xperia and telling us how could anyone want anything better. What's happened to cathulu you would expecting him to her gloating all over this

Seriously have a look at the samsung pocket. useless for web browsing and games, but an excellent cheap, small android phone.... if all you want is a phone

To be honest I've got no idea what you were playing at buying the wife a new phone. The fresh princess know that she doesn't get a new phone until I've finished playing with it and her mum knows that she gets the phone after that.

You shoud have given the Sony Xperia to her and got yourself an S2.

    School boy error really.

The master equivocator......The S1 is overkill for you BB!

Just get the S3 that way you won't be whinging about the S2 next week.

It's not about "need", the S3 is aesthetically a really sweet piece of work next to the clunky S2.

Go play with one, the S3 really is dang slick.

Yep, schoolboy error. Mrs bb gets my cast-off phones, and the mother-in-law or some other relation gets her cast-off. It's the pecking order.

Agreed, but the pecking order in my 'family' group has me at the bottom...

Now, having downloaded a few apps, I've noticed that my single core 1Ghz is slightly pausing between screens; I need a quad core or higher!

I dropped my HTC Desire HD and now it has a crack in the screen (though it still works perfectly)- I might replace the screen, but I played with an S3 yesterday and I really like it and I'm considering the switch- it's ~1cm longer than my HTC, but it's thinner and lighter and no problem to carry- Samsung did a nice job with it.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

like the S2, the only thing that lets the S3 down are the cheap plasticky materials, although both Samsungs have the Gorilla Glass

The vast majority of Thai staff I saw at the Samsung shop/Powerbuy, etc, had the S2. Just like my missus, they don't like: 1) the screen; 2) the camera (I think this comes down to the screem image too...), of the S3. The S2 screen really is a killer for the Thais; they are all oon bloody social network sites all day long, they don't really do much else, so they all seem to prefer the S2.

    My Xperia has Gorilla glass.

^ that sounds cool, where do I get these 'vinyl jeans'?

The Note is too big; have you seen people holding them to their faces to make calls? Ridiculous...

Why does that let it down? It makes it lighter yet it's still incredibly durable.
I wouldn't fly on a Dreamliner if I were you.

(Actually I've found another reason not to fly on a Dreamliner, see Airline News <heh>).

    Gotta agree with that.

The Galaxy tab 10.1 can be used as a phone too.

Yep, that's how it's done. Mrs is about to inherit my galaxy S when I get the S3, MIL will get the Nokia N97. FIL will get the Mrs. old phone, random old lady, aunt or something, will get the little ole push-button, etc.
