My guess would be that he left the thread when it decedent into the inevitable dustup between the android and iOS fanatics.

    ROTFLOL!

Seriously? There's none available, not even at the airport?

Did they have iPhones and iPads for sale, though?

Oh everything else. Their electronics section is pretty good. I must admit I didn't look in the shops outside, it was a memorial weekend and a bit hazy to be honest.

So, Samsung spends a crapload of money on advertisements for products they then forget to actually make available in the places where they advertise for them?

    Wow. Koreans.

They started taking "pre-orders" on 24th May. I'm guessing they're doing the Apple trick of short supplying to create the impression of bigger demand, although I heard an awful lot of people asking about it.

One thing samsung do is create far to many versions of almost the same product. Better half have just been looking the samsung android phones/tabs at IT city and there are a hell of a lot to choose from some seeming identical.

They try and do things that fit people's needs and budgets. The wide variety kind of tells you how much these things really cost to make.

^I would agree but a 7.0" and a 7.7" display tablet, multiple versions of the same format running android 2 and 3. Choice is a wonderful thing, but sometimes there is too much, it just gets confusing. Apple have gone too far in minimising choice within its product range, but I fear that samsung have gone too far the other way.

... Yet, with all that choice, Samsung's tablets are just a blip on the sales radar, while Apple's minimal choice seems to dominate the market.

Also, the SGS3 is only available in one version and configuration, it seems - yet another page taken from the Apple play book.

Personally, I feel that Apple provids plenty of choice - 2 colors, and 3 capacity configurations on phones, and the same on iPad tablet. Makes choices easier, and any further customizations are easily done via whatever apps you end up getting. Seems easy enough.

What "options" and choice does Samsung provide on the Galaxy S 3, for example?

The bottom line is that the iPad is the best of the current crop of tablets as far as the user interface goes.

Yes, Apple products are more expensive relative to what they offer, but (cost aside) the iPad is the nicest tablet on the market (at the moment) when it comes to actually picking up one of these devices and using it for its primary purpose (web surfing and email/social media)- the limits of iOS as far as Flash is concerned has not been an issue.

From the bottom end of the market to the top end, the price difference really isn't that great- cheap tablets suck when it comes to their interfaces- it's why they're cheap in the first place- I don't care who makes my electronics- I try to buy the best available- right now in the tablet market, it's the iPad.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

not for the interface, maybe price and screen, they have the advantage

indeed, the 7 and 7.7 should be merged, create fracture in markets segments over nothing

price difference also seems to be almost negligible,

another reason why apple can lure fools more easily, not much choice, that's what most dumb consumers like the iPad, simple choice

Actually it's because I buy the best I can afford- even the most expensive tablets really aren't that much money, so why buy a cheap one (that doesnt work as well) if you don't have to.

As I said, current the iPad has the best user interface of any tablet (please tell me which other tablet is better)- if something new that works in a superior fashion comes out (by another manufacturer), I would abandon Apple in a heartbeat- unlike most of you, my loyalties aren't biased towards (or against) any particular brand- I just go for quality- your choices, BF, show that they come from a completely different standpoint.

Last weekend I gave away an HP Touchpad (which is way better than your Viewsonic) to my four-year-old nephew because I couldn't stand to use it anymore in the face of a superior product.

^ the Viewsonic is far more superior than your HP

and are you saying that your 4 year old nephew can use the HP with that "horrible" interface but you can't ? too complicated for you but not for a 4 year old ?

the iPad is designed for retards, period. In that sense, they are the best products out for them. Better screen also, and better packaging. Also in terms of price, iPad are cheaper in the "base" version than the other premium tablets.

I've also got an Asus EP121, which didn't sell well because it was priced too high for most of the market- great tablet, though, and Windows-based.

I'm saying your Viewsonic and my HP are crap compared to the iPad (and the Transformer, which is a great choice for the Android platform)- I loaded a few games on it, and it became a great choice for a four-year-old (as your Viewsonic would have been, but I would have felt badly giving the kid something so low-end- at least the HP is a decent product- I didn't say it was 'horrible' but it wasn't nearly as good as the iPad).

You're happy with your cheap choices- I think that's great- you're also so married to an idiotic position that you'll always be limited in your choices, however, and that's just sad.

in terms of specs ? don't think so, maybe your HP, but the specs on the Viewsonic are quite good, and it was a steal, perfect for sampling the tech and having fun with it. The Viewsonic is far more recent that the HP version, and it has a superb interface. From far away, you could mistake it for an Ipad, so the show off factor is still there for the snobby

hardly, I am opened to all kind of manufacturers. I simply feel that iOS is awkward, clumsy and simply too limited to use. It's just pretty but very limited, and of course you have that huge POS iTunes to "gate" against better things. I don't have that feeling with other tablets running Android. The Android is simply more flexible and sophisticated, not for your average retard, I will grant you that.

None. It will shift them out of the door by the containerloaid until it comes up with the Nexus SII in time for Xmas.
