Actually not a bad looking watch, some are so ugly these days.

How old and what was it's original cost?

What is the map Meter feature all about?...I'm clueless

    bobcock...
i paid just under 14,000THB for it at emporium about a year ago but have very rarely worn it, still partial to my other seiko diver.
the map reader allows you to scale distances on a map by rolling the reader wheel (left side of watch) over a map. the wheel turns the internal bezel to show kilometers.
bit of a novelty item i suppose, bought more for the looks and general sturdiness of the watch. it's nice and chunky...heavy as well...which i like.

An e-bay version. Is it a copy, or original?
