he says that you actually have a different version that will not work

Maybe if you took it out of the box and put a SIM card in, you can check it and make sure it is unlocked

furthermore, as you have been in the UK and you only recently received the phone, how do you know what the dealer in Jujusco will give you? for the version you have in its box

If you read the thread, you would discover that I have 'my' N96 that I obtained when renewing my contract a while ago, which accepted my O2 SIM and my AIS SIM quite happily.

The phone for sale is from the same company and should be identical, as it is the same model. It comes as a result of my wife's renewal of her airtime contract. I have not opened it, as then it would not be 'new' and 'box sealed'.

Due to remarkable technology, I phoned the owner of the shop we use in Jusco and asked him. Being a mobile phone shop and him being the owner, he already knew what an N96 was.

Is there anything else that you need some help with? Easing you out of your chair? Bag change?

If you read the thread, you will see that I have already linked to a thread that states that the early versions of the n96 released in the uk at the time you got yours were unlocked.

The one you are selling now is locked and requires unlocking. I'll put my house on it that it will not work in thailand before it is unlocked, preferrably in the uk.

I'm not playing a guessing game here. Knowing that phone will not work with thai simcards is like knowing that 2+2=4.

Also the old chestnut "oh the box has been opened and it isnt new" doesnt count for shit in this second hand phone trade. people are still willing to pay top dollar for an opened box, all you need to state is that it was opened to check that it is unlocked and will work on any sim.
Check the sellers description and the final selling price the thousands of phones that sell on e-bay every day to confirm this!
