Dudes, the projector is a high-tech device intended for people who's working hard in daylight and coming home late night to enjoy a home movie theater on big screen with high progressive resolution. In short: this is a BUSINESS projector and it is not intended for beggars who gadding about Go-Go bars

I was interested in it as a spare to go in my boardroom. It's low spec and rather tatty, so thought for a couple of baht would do you a favour.

What is his name, your psychiatrist, who taught you to read such a mantra?

Haven't you forgotten that in addition to reading the mantras of complacency and procrastination on the forums, you need to have lots and lots of work on yourself in real life, that would be give you a probability to buy expensive things and have beautiful women? )

I'm not interested in the projector but just have a quick question. Do people have to take your word on the hours the lamp has done? I'm guessing there's no way of knowing for sure right?

I'm not accusing you of anything underhand, I just know from personal experience that the lamp is about 90% of the cost. If the lamp blows soon after you buy a second hand projector, you'll be well out of pocket.

A long time ago I bought one without a lamp from an auction, thinking I had done my homework and a tidy profit would ensue. I ended up buying a new lamp and selling it a break even because I had underestimated the cost of the lamp. It was fucking hundreds of pounds!!

Just seems a big risk if the hours can't be verified?

^ The projector records the lamp usage time - it only gets reset when a new lamp goes in and the projector 'reads' something from a chip in the lamp.

^ Cheers mate, makes sense. Would be a huge gamble buying second hand otherwise.

Every projector (and mine also) has a built tech screen which displays all available and updated data about current state.

Both Standart and Economy mode has spent less than 300 hours, so it is less than 600 hours in total. You can see it in tech display when projector starts.

You can calculate yourself that 600 hours it is about 300 full-lenght movies. Means that, approximately 1 movie each day during a year.

Projector been bought in August 2011. And the reason why I'm selling it because I just use it very rarely, especialy last 6-9 months. When I bought it I was watching 2-4 hours in one time, a few times a week. And the last 6-9 month I watch something 2-3 times a month.

The lamp capacity of this projector is 5,000 hours. No one physically unable to use even half of those hours for 1.5 years. But assuming that I hacked it and changed the number of hours before the sale, then for any use that-be need about one year to spend 600 hours.

And the cost of the lamp for projector is not 90% but something about 10,000 baht.

    Updated cost for a bulb:
    7,000-8,000
    E-TORL UHE White 200W Rplc. Projector Lamp | Quill.com

But, dudes, you do not need a new bulb, since there are more than 4,000 hours left!

Sorry mate, I honestly wasn't trying to stich you up or insinuate you were being dodgy.

I just remembered the emotional roller coaster the one and only time I bought a projector. It was worth 1000 new, they were going for 600 second hand, I bought it for about 200 and then found out the lamp was another 400 on top of that. (numbers to that effect anyhow)

I just wondered how people could possibly trust sellers if the lamp hours weren't know. But they are so it's all good.

    Good luck shifting it mate.
