Ball gag or restraining order. How much in Fukuoka?
Very interesting thread as Japan is at the top of my list for places to move to next year. Not as pricey as I thought, in some cases it's actually cheaper than Myanmar. Yangon rents are more then Tokyo rents, which is total madness really.

Japenese Yen being in the shitter helps quite a bit. I'm curious to know how cheap it will feel once you start making money in Yen.
I have no idea or judgement on it, just curious on whether its cheap in local currency terms...
Hey dick. Ive got a mate living in kobe. He couldnt believe how cheap me and the wife and boy were getting aroundcjapan by bullet train using the jap rail pass that i bought in Laos.(you cant buy them in japan) he was paying way more by residing there. Just heard from the fuckers a few days ago. He was preparing to move the family back to Aussie coz he was redundant in Laos. (The KOONTS a geologist) turns out he picked up a good gig in Hokkaido province and won't be moving back to Aussie for a while. He.s a happy camper. Things are sure looking up for mining dudes. I wouldn't mind a job to. But still nursing a broken arm and I've learnt to pull me dick with the other one so all good bro.
Need 5 hundy NZ dollars a week to break even... so 10 hours of private teaching (1 on 1)... might take a few months til I'm profitable - but that's to be expected.Originally Posted by redhaze
I already have two private students just from word of mouth... just working on my flyer/hand-out to find more... have an interview for a job at a local Ekaiwa (language school) on Tuesday, it's within walking distance from my house.
Going rate for private students is 4 - 5,000 yen per hour.. or 1 NZ dollar per minute. Not bad...
Still haven't approached any local shops to help distribute my honey - as I've been too busy setting up my place. Step by step...
Sounds good mate.. you boys pulling the big bucks - well, you are pulling something anyway 55...Originally Posted by beerlaodrinker

I'm surprised you can still buy a spade in Japan. The Emancipation Proclamation ended that here ages ago. Those with the cash just hire Mexicans to do the yard work.
The thought did cross my mind... nah... slowly build up my business - put her fanny out to work soon enough.Originally Posted by terry57

Hey Richard,
Outside ya family unit is the average Pan Head friendly to you or do they think ya some sort of Alien or sumptin. ?
Yea Dickie, how about it. Can you call them pan heads, blind them with dental floss and still expect them not to spit in your rice cakes? Just askin is all.

They are just more reserved, until they know you, then they are open, warm and friendly. It just takes a while for them to suss you out first, I feel.
For instance, I wanted to whack up a big ass sign, in front of my gaff, teacher lives here - sign the fook up now, ya wombats... something like that...
Anyway, that's a no, no... gotta get to know the neighbors first... see how they react... sensitive folk the Japs... gotta act real humble and super nice.. I'm the only honkey in this moo baan, so the gossip will spread fast that a gaijin has moved in...
I gotta represent Kiwi innit... no taking a dump on me barren lawn... I'm all sophisticated now...(flicks a snot ball in the general vicinity of the rubbish bin)
