    Hong Kong - 24 Hours - 1 Million Baht

Certain things are quite expensive in Hong Kong, medical care can be one of them, a friend of mine was hiking in Hong Kong on one of the trails, he took a tumble and put his arm out to save himself, as he went down he slipped some more and caused the damage, chipped bone in his arm and some torn ligaments, he went to the Doctors and they gave him some tablets etc.

A week later the pain was still there so he decided to go to hospital, this is when he found out about the extent of the damage, so off to the top hospital he went, 24 hours later and 1 million baht of insurance money spent he left the hospital all fixed up, he had to pay a couple of grand stirling for outpatient stuff as the insurance didn't cover that but all seems good, maybe time for the uninsured to think about medical insurance.

    Part of the operation.

I was in hospital in America about 11 months ago for a month and raked up $180,000 in insurance paid bills.

Don't go to America without good medical insurance. In fact don't go without good medical insurance anywhere.

Be very careful with surgery in Hong Kong. Unnecessary surgery is a very frequent practice there.

A friend of mine had a knee surgery in Hong Kong. A couple of month later, he went to see a specialized surgeon back in Europe. The surgeon after checking the knee and the xrays had the usual bad news/ good news for him. The bad news was the surgery was not necessary, the good news was, despite a very delicate operation, the HK surgeon didn't do any dammage.

The same happent to me. Went to see a doctor for a bad sinus problem, something I have since I was a kid. He recommended surgery. I waited to go back home for a second advise. Same, no surgery necessary.
The things we regret most is the things we didn't do

I had a Hiatus Hernia Op last year done with laproscopic surgery, 4 small holes and 4 hours later Op over. Big foker it was and turned into a major Op.

Anyway if They done it old school I would of had to be cut open big time and ended up with a shitload of stitches down my gut and a significant healing period. Fuk that.

Anyway, Don't get any Ops done in Hong Kong unless its a matter of life or death.

Jump a plane to KL or Bangkok.
