LC told me the Anodard is not that fantastic.....

If you book the anodard make sure you get a room at the front, they have all been updated.

The rooms at the back are shit, also they don't have a restuarant, they seem to make up there prices as they go along.

You could try the lotus pang suan,on hauy keaw road, good family rooms b\f included, great swimming pool.

It is situated behind Central department store

I'm confused about caling he Arnodad less than fantastic then recommending the TN? Dunno, but I spent a few hours in the Top North; reasonable "short-time" rates I guess, but a fuckin dump IMO.

This is a very nice hotel, close enough friends of mine stayed there a couple years ago, I remember they paid about 1800 though. The breakfast buffet was OK. they loved the rooms.
Looking at their website the rooms seem to be a tad higher than that

The Montri Hotel is right in the thick of things and inexpensive at around 750 a night might have adjoining rooms they have triples for 950 a night.

Well we will arrive in CM on Monday morning and I still dont know which hotel to choose, but thanks to you all I have a list which I will go through when we get there.

Will first try the Anodard though as it seems to be the cheapest. If the troops like it we will stay there as it seems convenient for food and drink - plus they have a pool........

have gone for the Novotel as their internet booking rates are reasonable (800 baht per night). i called the hotel direct and they quoted me 1200 baht over the phone. So i have booked for 3 nights and see what we feel like doing after that.

Anodard quoted me 750 baht a night which seems a bit expensive. I guess i must sound too rich and handsome over the phone.

Hope to meet some of the TD Chiang Mai members over the next week.

    Cheers

Funnily enough, GoW and I were watching Liverpool play someone, and she asked me where Bellamy came from. I pointed out that he's a short arse, and she quickly concluded that he was Welsh.

    She's a fine lass!

you back in one piece again LC?

I would say the Montri would be the best choice of hotel, it is much better situated then the Novotel and much nicer than the Anodard

before your three days finish, have a look at the Montri
