    Do you need/want my tgf?

Hello, and a very happy new year to you all

My tgf is looking to change her current job and she asked me if I could help her in finding a new position for her, in or around the Chiang Mai area.

She has a degree in mass-communication and speaks/writes English to a fair standard. She has spent most of her working life working for a design company in Bangkok where her duties included many government projects and is used to working under strict deadlines.

She is hard working, honest, and has a pleasant personality who has expressed a desire to work with children, perhaps as a nanny or care-giver.

She doesn't mind what she does as she just needs to escape her current position due to personal issues with her employer.

Please PM me if you can her.

    Thanks

    Mine too!

Mines done bloody well in the dental field but she's been offered a job in the insurance malarky which sees her good for 2 grand per accident call out. That's gonna be better than me.

WTF is mass communication anyway? (apart from the obvious)

I'm not sure! When I ask all I get is a frown, a brief pause, and then an elevated use of the word "MEDIA" and a satisfied grin...

She studied at Ramkhenghang (spelling) university in Bangkok and since landing in Chiang Mai she has struggled to secure any half-decent employment. It's good that your other half has her own vocation Fresh - P as I feel this is important for anybody to establish a sense of independence. I wouldn't want her to sit at home all day and clean the house: not very rewarding is it?

Still, we live in hope that she gets a break

    According to wiki:

"Mass communication is the term used to describe the academic study of the various means by which individuals and entities relay information through mass media to large segments of the population at the same time. It is usually understood to relate to newspaper and magazine publishing, radio, television and film, as these are used both for disseminating news and for advertising."

Mrs Tiz has a BA in mass communication, and so does her nephew.

I have never been able to determine exactly what it means that she studied, other than English (and a few other languages).

Mamy companies, including Thai Airways have a height, weight and age requirements as well a "beauty" standards. Termination has resulted from getting old, ugly and or fat.

true, but seeing as I don't work for Thai and that I generally interview male engineers I can still find it amusing.

Well, THAI clearly does not uphold this policy very well...

Mass com is the easiest degree to get in Thailand. The core subjects are a breeze and English is kept to a minimum. Ya wanna be a dj, a song writer, a tv presenter, or news reader, a camera man, a script writer, or even an actor or an actress you want this degree.

While this may be true, the times when I have flown with Thai in the past I have often been served by: getting on a bit, less firm, layers of slap on the face hostesses. Of course I would much prefer a tighter, firm, looks great in that uniform type hostesses but Thai - at least the long hauls - does have its fair share of older crew.

I also knew an English pal of mine who first attended ABAC but then changed to Ramkenghang university because he hated the superficial, stuck up, hi-so Thais that attended there. To be honest, regardless of the subject he studied - which was also mass communication - I totally get why he studied there as he not only met his 'future wife' there but also had a lot of fun during the process selection...

Chitown, you don't seem to get this either! This what the Burmese are for, to be exploited.

Chi, I had to fly T.A a month back, LHR to BKK. End of November during the "problems"

    Horrible motley crew of FAs.

I can live with "aged and ugly" but plain useless, no.

The food was crap and we'll just forget the in-house entertainment.

    Never again.
