This present gateway was actually built in the early 90's to replace another reconstruction, probably the one from the 60's which wasn't considered authentic enough.

Until this recent rebuild Thapae road used to run straight through the gate. The plaza was built and a one way system imposed on the road around the moat.

I knew the answer to the Lena Seafood questions, but you gave the answers in the next post anyway.

Great place, Lena's. I've recommended it before:

Bugger can't find the link: it was when Jandajoy was asking about a good place for a party.

A couple more Chiang Mai restaurants, although one with the sign on maybe a bit of an easy one even for jandajoy the other I believe is part or near a Chiang Mai orchid farm or nursery.

Mad Dog Restaurant, what road is it on and is the pizza any good?

Where in Chiang Mai is this garden restaurant and what is the name?

Have to admit that is a pretty generic restaurant style that can be seen all over Thailand, common as muck, so the next few.

Where in Chiang Mai is this gun shop and do they sell or rent real guns?

    Where is this flower market?

Name and where in Chiang Mai is this Chinese Temple?

Very good DrAndy, you've obviously had a holiday or 2 in Chiang Mai

Lets make it a bit harder, now Pattaya has a Walking Street which is full of bar girls and beer bars, I was suprised that Chiang Mai had one aswell, so how many beer bars and ladies of the night are there in Chiang Mai walking street, also how much do they charge?

Where is this shop in Chiang Mai?

Whats the name of this river and the building in the background?

Name of the hotel and the bridge?

OK CM walking street is a Sunday market, and, for some reason, has few bars and no girls

the shop is just off Warorot market, selling hilltribe handicrafts

    Ping River and Arsehole Condominium

    enough, I give up

waterfalls are generally located between 2 rivers. I would hazard a guess and say this waterfall has a river upstream and another river downstream. There are some very small fish in one of the rivers. The water is cold. There are many empty bottles of chang, plastic bags that held som tum and even some chicken bones nearby. People generally like waterfalls.
