Haven't verified it, but got this today:

"First time for everything - Spicy was raided at 1:30 a.m. this morning, Oct. 15, for trading after midnight. The manager was arrested and charged for breaching the Alcohol Beverage Control Act 2008."

That would be a turn up for the books!

No, it moved. Right on the moat in public view and has always been considered "untouchable". Until now.

I used to end up there for a late drink after Spice in the Ambassador shut but thought it had been closed.

I guess the tea money must have been short this month.

I assumed it was shut too, there again my days of partying are not what they once were. Never really went to Spicy often- I have memories of going to some Middle Eastern themed club at one end of Khao San as if you were walking to Soi Rambutri. I would imagine Rambutri is no longer the chill little area it once was.

Edit: A quick Google unearthed the club in question was called Gazebo. It's now closed for good.

I suspect a few people haven't seen what forum this is posted in.

Spicy is a police-owned bar that openly flaunts 12am closing every single night.

For it to get raided means it's come from Bangkok or there is a new head honcho in town renegotiating the cake tin.
