fckin Irish bars, what is this deal? here in Udon we have two Irish bars, now aprt from the fact that one serves giuness ( or however you spell that crap black stuff) they got as much to do with Ireland as my hairy ass has. Apart from producing some piss head poets and lots of red nosed NY cops, WTF has Ireland done for the world? Bloody band wagon bars.

the UN Irish bar is so named because it has bugger all irish about it at all except that it sells guiness.
i like it a lot because it is good value and not one of those theme type franchises.
They also show rugby and cricket ahead of soccer.

and as LC says it has pretty girls.
    Mimi is my personal fave.

I played there a couple of weeks ago, totally shite.
I just mumbled and moaned for a full 18 holes.
the grass is sorted to the level it was at before which is to say totally shit.
they have also increased the price by 100%.
One to avoid but the range is ok and they have beer for you drinking types.

Well said, PP. If people want Irish bars they should fuck off to Ireland. Where, incidentally, there are some very nice ones.

Similar sentiments apply, of course, to "English" pubs that aren't in England and so on, ad infinitum...

Try an evening meal at Palad Tawan Rorn. You'll need transport, because it's on the mountain overlooking the city. Very impressive views in the evening, and good food too.

I prefer The Good View to Riverside, but plenty others don't. They're practically next door to each other. Other good places to eat include Leena Seafood in Anusarn Night Market (just off the street where the Night Bazaar is) and The Duke's on the east bank of the river between Narawat Bridge and the little iron bridge if you're missing huge portions of well done western food, including steaks, pizza, seafood and pasta. I also like Pum Pui for Italian food, in the centre of town not far from Tha Pae Gate inside the moat.

A few beers in Foxy Lady behind the D2 Hotel, is sometimes a treat.

You shouldn't miss a trip up to the temple at Wat Doi Suthep, on the mountain to the west of the city.

    Have fun.

    bb

    Smile Just about ready

to get my OA visa and we are going to live in CM, hell may not come back to US? I am thinking of a condo, since I am older and can not walk to much. Walk a bit then sit and on. Thats about as good as it is for me. I hope that your stay is great.
