Yes, bluddy awful this month (especially). The past few years have been a lot cleaner - at least where we are. I can only imagine (and probably wrong, too) that this time around there's been that much more that can burn off, after all the rain last year.

The weeds and crap at our piece of mountain land were up to 5 metres high towards the end of last year - never seen it that high (and thick) before. It took ages to cut it all down (and still ain't finished, either).

We were actually expecting not to see much foul air this year - seeing as a lot of locals have gradually stopped burning so much over the last few years. This year seems to have brought an amazing amount of forest fires in our area, so maybe it's more the uncontrolled fires that are making the air foul, rather than than the locals burning their fields - we haven't actually seen that much of field burning, either.

Whatever - hope it disappears very soon - as it will do after a bit of rain.

On Monday last week it was awful, and incredibly there was some sort of bike race going on up the steep windy road to Doi Suthep. They weren't looking too happy half way up, would be healthier to ride with a mouthful of cigarettes

Finally rain! A nice big storm blew in here this evening. Hope it washed away some of that noxious haze.

It's not just CM, the air in Bangkok hasn't been too great lately. My kid has bronchitis, and I suspect it's the smoky air that is largely to blame. Would like to get him out of here, but the only alternative at present is Tokyo, and I think compared to cesium the Bangkok air is the lesser of two weevils.
