It is lacking in farang food

Na! It mainly lacks in farangs having enough doe to spend on descent western food. There are some places where you can get good enough for a fair price that ain't a fast food chain, but don't expect it coming from a master chef - for a descent western culinary experience in Ayutthaya there's only one place now: the Krungsi Hotel's restaurant (they have an Italian menu too, ask for that one as well).
And no wonder you have no clue where to go when/if you only tour with the teaching clan members - I trust next time you'll call me when in town to revise your opinion again.
And I still don't get it why you haven't seen the birds in town yet, I thought I'd pointed you the right direction a few weeks ago!?

I shall be back up there later on this week and shall give you a ring, I did find the girlie area but couldn't see how to get there from the motorway, I was gonna park in the petrol station and walk there, talking to the teachers they don't go there cos all there students go there, well that might be to the more clubby type bars, can't imagine they would be allowed in whoreing type places

Another thing I noticed about Ayutthaya is the amount of people that own dogs, now most of the roads are paved but the center reservation has grass on it, dogs like shitting on grass so the reservations are filled with dog shite
