From Kanchanaburi to Phuket - Fastest route?

What would be the fastest method of transportation to get from Kanchanaburi to Phuket?

Would it be faster to go back to BKK and fly to Phuket? or can I get a train nearby that would take me to Phuket? I only have a week and I want to be able to get to Phuket in the fastest time possible after seeing Kan?

Train would be 12 to 16 hours I think, probably best to fly or coach.

Just go down to the bus station in Kan. They'll have a big schedule board on the wall. If you can find Phuket, it'll have (probably very inaccurate) departure/arrival times.

To get to the bus station, just tell the motorcy taxi Pai baw-kaw-saw.

So there is a bus then from Kan to Phuket town? Is it first-class, or do they have 1st/2nd class coach? I hope to get an all-nighter bus, but I have heard of things being stolen on buses. Does anyone know the fare?

Train from Bkk only goes as near as Surat Thani and will by far be your longest option.

Bus to Bkk Southern terminal..2 hours. Bus from here direct to Phuket 12-13 hours.

The way I would go would be hire a pickup and driver in Kanchanaburi get him to drive you to Bangkok airport and fly to Phuket the busses here in Thailand Fuked when they arent crashing they like to catch fire.
Take the plane and get to Phuket all fresh and ready to party
