Yes, in the bars here:
Maenamkwai Rd to Maenamkwai Rd - Google Maps
Watch out for the "bait and switchers". Lissome lass out front beguiling the thirsty traveller and then informing you she is a virgin or happily married but that there are other "quality" damsels available. I think they mean "other quality" girls, really.
On my visit there I strolled down the street of bars, cant recall the name, it seemed to be a well known area. Out the front of some of the bars were the prettier girls, either sitting on a bar stool at the entrance or even outside. Wandered into one where the lass was a real corker and after buying her a drink or two I made the usual enquiry only to find that she was married and never did that sort of stuff. She said that she did this quite often and fellers would come in and buy etc. All to no avail. Ah well.
They were girls alright.
There are plenty of bars and bar girls in K-buri. They're mostly on a street paralleling the river (but not the one along the river).
If you are a teacher be careful; could cause you trouble if you're a known frequenter of the bar scene. Character and all that stuff.

Happy to help when I can. K-buri is a great town, but the best is out of the city. CheersOriginally Posted by gipsi
There are a number of spots; Muang Singh (farthest western Khmer Temple ruins and a 2-3,000 year old grave with 2 skeletons and pottery). It'a a beautiful park on the Kwe Noi.
A cave on the death railway right on the Kwe Noi. The Japanese hid there during air raids by the allies. Also has an interesting market right there.
There's also an organic farm (Jia Thai) operated by the private company CP. Great fresh produce not likely to be seen in a grocery store.
There's a Chinese Temple high on a hill (cable car to the top) with an outstanding view of the surrounding areas. Early morning or later in the afternoon if you're into photography.
And of course Erawan Waterfalls (7 or 8 of them) and the dam.
When you are ready for a 2 or 3 day trip; Sangklaburi is a must; right on the Burmese border (3 Pagodas Pass) and you can go over to the local market. No visa or anything; just leave your passport with Thai border police and go in for 5 or 6 hours.
That should keep you busy for a bit. Cheers.
^ Yes, but can you buy tight, delicious, 20 yr old Asian pussy for $10 there?

I was a teacher but I taught in Pattaya. The only place I could go without seeing "ladies" was Foodland.Originally Posted by Grower

if you really want to have a nice time, stay away from riverroad and his bars, but just go visit some local karaoke's, lots of more fun and better to practise your thai skills with better looking girls. Or go to glitzy (river kwai hotel in town) or discovery (raft pier) and enjoy the local girls over there.
gf not allow me to bring that kind of evidence home ... but, for real i enjoy the karaoke's much more then the bars on the strip there, i frequently visit them a few years back, but, getting bored of it, and there are plenty more karaoke's in and outside town to visit, even some bars with pretty ladies, but not all of those bars allow farang or are happy when farang come visit them.
i ran out of petrol near a karaoke somewhere behind the bus station i was surrounded by thai people not speaking just stared at me while i was checking the bike bit scary i felt like i was in that movie black hawk down
