Bangkok - Dinner cruise recommendations

Hi,

Has anybody got any revews and information about the above, like how the food was and what the price was?

Is there a standout company or are they all much the same?

I always recommend the "cruise" done by Yok Yor restaurants...if you're talking about ChaoPhraya River cruises.

Sure they have plastic chairs etc but the food is way better than most of the others cause you order first and they cook it in the restaurant before the boat leaves. The cruise itself is the same as all the others.

Think they only charge an extra 100/200 baht for the cruise part...

The boat is beautiful, great ambience.

My friends are coming this Friday and I plan to take them (a couple) out for this kind of stuff.

I look at the site, I see the minimum pax is 20 people but we are only 4 people, is it a problem?

Sharon: At least one of the boat lines also have a live band that plays during the cruise. The dance floor is large enough for those who want to dance, and there are plenty, and it isn't too crowded on the dance floor. I'd check to make sure that the boat you choose has a band. And as you probably already know, take your camera as the view from the river of the Wats light up at night is marvolous. Enjoy!

Their boat has sunk twice since I've been in Bangkok so I wouldn't recommend an outfit who can't take better care of their equipment...

yes that's the one shaz...I know there are many options for tours on the river, but not everyone is as well-heeled as bobCOCK, or maybe they have to pay for their own bills and therefore look for something more realistically priced...

There's one that launches from right under Saphan Taksin twice a night 7 and 9 p.m. I forget the name of the company, but it was a good show (music and dancin' girls (trad Thai you pervs) with top shelf dinner for about 1,000 baht each (plus drinks).

April 2nd 2002...Wise voices have suggested that all bases could be covered if clandestine frogmen were sent down to the sunken ship along with buckets of paint and brushes. A few minutes work could cosmetically turn the wreck into the Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge Queen. But, the official 'cover story' still remains that the Oriental Queen has a "broken engine." When pressed further, the 'story' puts the Oriental Queen in a vaguely far away "boat garage." When pressed more, the 'story' becomes just a 'sincere' smile backed by silence. But, when asked pointedly if the Oriental Queen did, in fact, sink like a weighted stone ... in the river almost directly behind the Oriental Hotel ... and that it is now laying deep under water with no chance that it will ever sail again ... the answer is "Sure!"

They have some traditional dancing showtoo but I wasn't impressed with the buffet food. And then when I wanted to start the second round of food tehre was nothing left but desserts.
