EDIT: I should add the Ruskies have arrived here en force. Perhaps it's the only place the Rouble goes some distance. They're still necking vodka like it's mother's milk. A group (family) tried to coerce me into drinking with them last night. I declined - just wasn't up for the noise and Rouble Tears.

Well, one month up. And it was ... part crazy/part fun/part boredom.

The town is overrun with cheap-ass backpackers (some of the girl are gorgeous though) and Russians.

Did manage to get a stalker girl - who would come knocking on my door at 1-3am. Free shag, couldn't say no.

Actually prefer it to Bkk, and since no decent jobs are popping up here I might head back that way and help the girl out with her bar (kindly bought by her ex-loverman in the UK).

Life's cheap and cheerful there, and the Cambo's genuinely seem to tolerate/like barang more than the Thais.

Bangkok is a stinking pile of shite, bar the pretty girls.

People forget how developed Thailand is (in terms of infrastructure) than it's neighbours... until you go the expensive ones like Kuala Lumpur, Singsong and Hongkong and Nippon. Vietnam doesn't have proper cities and Kmayland never will. I dunno about Jakarta, but it doesn't have a proper light rail/underground yet, so it must be shit with all that excess population.

Burma has all the potential to get to that level of infrastructure, if only they let Rangoon grow instead of trying to haul everything up to that ridiculous village in the north, Naypidaw.
