Economic advisory team formed

Commerce Minister Pornthiwa Nakasai on Wednesday formed an economic advisory team, aimed at boosting the private sector's confidence.
The team consists of four branches and they will look after problems of local consumers, management of agricultural products, trade negotiations and export promotion, and business developments.
17 prominent economists have joined the team. Some of them include Boonying Nitikanchana, Prapol Milintajinda, Somchai Phokpatwiwat, Chaiya Limwilai, Thirapong Tangthirasunan, Anurat Kowkasai, Somphob Manarangsan, Uttama Saonayon, and Pisanu Rienmahasarn.
One of the team members, Mr Chaiya, said all members in the team are intent to improve the economic structure and solve economic problems of the country.
He said they will try to stimulate the export sector, boost the confidence of investors and Thailand’s major trading partners, identify new foreign markets by holding road shows, and improve the well-being of Thai people.
Another economic advisor, Mr Anurat, said foreign exchange problems and credits issued by financial institutions must be urgently addressed so business operators can export their products.
He asked people to give the government some time to work out the economic problems.
