I've had an eToro account for a while now, it's just got some spare cash in it because it was easy to stick money into from the sandpit, but I'm generally shit at it. I tried the "mixed bag" approach and it never really made anything. So I switched to some tech stocks and did fine until one of them took a big dive because of profit taking before an earnings reports. Took a while to come back to parity.
So I was thinking about cashing it in when I noticed nVidia had announced some new products at CES, so flippantly chucked it all in there expecting a bit of a bump.
And fucking hell, what a ride since.
It seems nVidia make the only decent data centre AI "processor" (It's actually a massive 70KG box full of tricks). It seems there is so much demand for them from the likes of Microsoft, Meta, etc. that they have to limit what each customer gets until they can expand production. Their last earnings report blew everyone's socks off.
But I'm not really a studier of form. Some see a target price of 850, others as high as 1300. (It just broke the 800 barrier after nudging it all week and now sits at 821).
So I'm thinking I might take some of the profit and see how it rides.
