BANGKOK, 19 April 2018 (NNT) - The Ministry of Commerce has organized the product expo "Style April 2018" to showcase the latest lifestyle products from local designers.

The expo builds on the success of the previous event in October last year, which showcased leather goods, home appliances, and furniture to become the most comprehensive lifestyle product event in the region.

This year's event is held under the concept of blending creativity and innovation with Thai identity, in order to create value added according to the government's creative economy policy. The expo features lifestyle products from over 600 domestic and international businesses in the categories of fashion, gifts, home decor, and furniture. In addition, the event also features specialized products, such as items for the elderly, mothers and children, and pets.

Commerce Minister Sonthirat Sonthijirawong said this year's event brings local designers from Chiang Mai, Lampang, Lamphun, and Bueng Kan to engage in negotiations with over 60,000 attendees from countries including China, Japan, the United States, Hong Kong, Germany, Australia, India, and ASEAN member nations. The event also features a creative lab for testing and product development to suit the needs of consumers.

Sonthirat expects sales in the expo to top 3.8 billion baht and help expand the country's lifestyle product export sector. In the first two months of the year, exports of lifestyle products grew by 12% compared to the same period last year to hit a five-year high.

Style April 2018 will host business negotiations between April 19th and 21st and be open to the public on April 22nd-23rd at BITEC Bang Na.
