There are many more domestic flights from Suvannabhum, so no worries. But now I'm hearing that the domestic airport Don Muang is closed

If you do plan to change your ticket, wait til the last second. If the airport is closed at that time they should change it for no fee.
I have a ticket for the 1st and I plan on going. I just bought another ticket to fly on Air Asia to Phuket, no problem.
I think every airline in the world would have a policy similar to Delta's. I don't know why people complain about the American fleets, the only difference is the aging flight crews, and you can thank union wages and all the labor laws for that. Good thing is those older workers would probably know what to do in a disaster. I used to enjoy flying United to Asia. They flew 777's with good entertainment systems and the flight crew was great, some even remembered me. I can't believe anyone would think China Air would beat United. 555

But I do know that Cathay Pacific beat any American carrier especially for in-flight service and especially for on time arrival.
I am not a lover of China Air however my friend who works in Shanghai flies with them regularly back to Heathrow UK. He swears by them, he says the only other airline flying from that neck of the woods is Asiana but he has to go to Taiwan to get the flight.
"Don,t f*ck with the baldies*
UPDATE - Got Delta to change my flights sans change fees. Sure it had to do with this: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_p...a/pa_5596.html (they didnt even ask)
Bad news I had to push it all the way to mid-February. Based on that Travel Alert date-range and what I've been reading on here with the news posts; Thai Govn't saying "3 months" til all is well again.
Oh well....103 days til my Maiden Thailand Voyage now....we'll get there.
Still dry here, sandbag sale soon....
No one arriving has said they had a problem. Most enjoyed the fact that the roads from the airport were clear and that the sun is out and hot.
Ime still going on the 30 th November, land at Suvarnubum, thats the international air port and it's still operating, then going North to Nahkon Sawon. We had planned to go by train, from what iv'e read, trains still operate but go another way to miss the floods the journey take's some 2 hrs extra, thats ok,
We will see more, failing that we will go by car. Besides, things are on the improve, so what if not as good as last time, the Thai's have put up with much worse.
^they just get on and deal with it.
30 th Nov [at] 3pm, from Melbourne.
Bit out of your way there sunny...
^ yeah, shame that, always nice to have a drinking buddy for that 8 am apres check in beer
Agree with that. Cathay is tops. CI (China Airlines - via Taipei) is ok - but just ok - and some long haul flights don't have seatback screens in economy (right our of the 1980's big screen at front of the cabin) - most do however. Luck of the draw. Can't understand why Skytrax gave them 4 stars! Singapore would be a better bet than CI - but costly.
My mind is not for rent to any God or Government, There's no hope for your discontent - the changes are permanent!
