sounds like we have a similar house fart. I heard my old house in Laksi went underwater today, about 70 centimeters deep.
All that area suffers badly aged one as the canals there aren't to hot. When I used to live in Nonthaburi the Prachacheun canal there was always bursting it's banks.
One other point worth noting is to make sure your jabs are all up to date too.
Disease can spread FAST in flood conditions, infections can easily be caught through unclean water.
Be sure that even the smallest open wound you may have - even a shaving cut - is well covered (splashback can be a real bitch) if you have to venture out in flood water, and thoroughly cleaned afterwards.
If you have to go out in flood water, dig out an old pair of decent shoes too. Avoid flip flops if you can.
And here comes the rain.....
Not in Don Muang we have clear skies as of now. Get a bottle of Dettol as well and use that when you shower after being out in the crap.

The only healthy person has been me but I treated myself with copious amounts of Tiger beer which seemed to offset any germs.
how far are the floods stretching? i'm driving to Hua Hin on Friday, does that mean i'll be away from it? or driving through it??
And I knew you were ex-military by the size of your midriff and your preference for beer and barbecue ribs. LOLOriginally Posted by SEA Traveler

There's another double layer horizontal stack in front of those mate but I really think that the material waterproof tape should be enough to keep the water out.
And no, those tiles have been there for years but you and I very rarely venture too far away from the beer esky and the barbecue.
Nobody on our street has got a single sand bag in front of their house. I'm not sure if they know what they are doing or not but I don't have any either.Originally Posted by Butterfly
Thanks TY but it didn't happen . Or rather hasn't happened yet. Looks like the move to our new house couldn't have been better timed as we're about a metre higher in the new place. About an hour ago it rained heavily and Ms Bangyai thought we should get the sandbags but when I went for some beer instead I was informed that they are only giving out the sandbags to homes backing onto the canal. That was a relief as it would have been a struggle carrying back 20 sandbags and two bottles of Leo.
should I take my collection of StarWars lightsabers upstairs ? those are collectors items and priceless,
Have you allowed for capillary action?Originally Posted by Loy Toy
On the subject of sandbags, I have one thing against them which is they never collect them up when the waters subside . They soon become an ugly eyesore , left to rot and split there contents everywhere for months afterwards in another kind of environmental blight.
Yep.....................I put four (4) capillary layers of tape.Originally Posted by Gerbil

Better then having a ton of loose sand sitting on your driveway.
