Hi peeps, i am coming over from the 7th dec to the 31 dec, am looking for cheap as chips, somewhere to stay local ? have'ant got a clue about the area. my mate has a "lady" over there, its near nanna plaza, have been told to take a small amount of money and use atm machines is this right please, any tips/advice more than welcome. how far away is the sea, how to get there,any fishing nearby,need to catch some sun, so anywhere to get a decent tan and watch the world go by' Oh and what is christmas gonna be like there, can't wait, cheers Rolls.

If you've saved all that cash for a flight then why do you (and many other advice seekers) wanna stay in slum-like conditions? Is it 'The Beach' syndrome?

Expecting the bargirl/whore to fall in love with you when you've taken her back to your cockroach-infested slum hole will be very difficult, so bear that in mind.

Three star hotels are not very expensive (check out Ibis Hotels in Bangkok, for example) and offer luxury, comfort and decent toilet and shower facilities as well as a TV and decent view.

Another hotel is the swan inn near nana plaza, 600 per night but they do weekly and monthly rentals much cheaper.

You should check out Siam Square for a cheapo night out, sitting under the stars drinking beers from 7-11, but I must warn you that toilet facilities are non-existent

if anyone is recommending this place it must have improved a hell of a lot from the last time i was there.

utter shitehole - plastic table was melted with cigarettes in numerous places, cigarette burns on the carpets and sheets, damp stains on walls.... stayed one night and that was only because i was straight off the flight and my usual place was full.
