I'm not the OP, but I know the answer..

The Japanese War Cemetery holding the dead from the Cowra Breakout (During World War II, a POW camp near the town of Cowra in New South Wales, Australia was the site of one of the largest prison escapes of the war, on 5 August 1944.) was tended to after WWII by members of the Cowra RSL and ceded to Japan in 1963. In 1971 the Cowra Tourism Development decided to celebrate this link to Japan, and proposed a Japanese Garden for the town. The Japanese Government agreed to support this development as a sign of thanks for the respectful treatment of their war dead.

It's only an opinion of course, I often look at other peoples shots and love it, Take something similar myself and process it, then look at it and see how much darker and moodier mine is. These are nice, bright and airy, you should use a polarising filter, it would have been superb on the one with the fish.

I like the shots, but I find a couple of them look crooked, because the horizon is not straight.

The New Zealand memorial garden at Featherson is less flashy.


Two kilometres north of the quiet little Wairarapa town of Featherston, a small memorial garden marks the site of a riot that resulted in the deaths of 48 Japanese prisoners of war and one guard. A further 63 prisoners were wounded.

A plaque commemorates the site with a 17th-century haiku:

Behold the summer grass
All that remains of the
Dreams of warriors.
