I did ask whether she had picked up the right file, as there was a somewhat fit 20 year old next to me. She laughed and was on her way. So, it would appear, am I.

In the meantime, if some 20 year old comes on TD telling you all he has lung cancer, HIV, TB, Hep B, etc., I guess you know who to blame

Typical. Just bloody typical. 5 or so weeks before I'm due to be in Aus and what happens? The bloody Aussie Dollar goes through the roof (*highest level since 1989!!).

Now this could have happened a few days after I arrived. But no, not when I'm involved. Likely as not it'll dive south a few week after I get there. No doubt about the same time as I get my first pay-check

Too bloody right, nearly 90 US cents to buy one AU$. I don't even want to think about it. The US-Thai exchange depresses me too much already. Looks like the Kerr's Christmas holiday downunder is gunna be an expensive one this year .

Blame China. They are buying everything we can dig out of the ground here in OZ. Who knows how long it will last? Boom and bust I think. US econemy slows down. China exports slow down. Then China mineral resources imports slows down. USA is in debt up to its neck with China holding the biggest share of debt. And the whole thing could come tumbling down if someone sneezes the wrong way. Hope it all levels out gently, but markets tend to panic when things start to go wrong. See what happens.

Why is that trash? Why should he foot the bill for a bunch of charlatans to mumble a bunch of mumbo-jumbo?

I know William isn't in to all that crap, so I don't know why he puts up with it.

Anyway, I guess all this stuff about the monks is forgotten ...

Reason I'm posting is I'm not so sure if young Bill was asked any questions about "bikini cricket" during his visa interview?

Pretty much just a weekend cricket comp for the girls - worth going to see since they like keeping fit and getting a good tan at the same time - here's the comp's promo clip I believe -

So when will you move, William? Or are you already in Kangooroo-land?

Good luck, this is actually a better alternative than staying here,

I can't wait to get out of that shithole myself, hopefully when the SET hits 1000 !!!

If I wasn't addicted to teenage whores I would have left the place a long time ago,

Good Luck, this is a great new location

Make sure to bring a nice Thai girl with you for those long winter nights

Well, I have arrived in Sydney. When the plane touched down, it was cloudy, raining and fucking freezing. I double-checked the immigration stamp to make sure that I had arrived in Australia and not made the mistake of getting on a plane to London!

Customs here in a pain, they scan all bags and it takes for fucking ages to get out.

On the upside, they have all your details at immigration, so you don't need to go through the bother of having to get nasty big stamps in your passport. Also managed to open a bank account and buy a mobile phone within an hour. The "officialdom" here is much more laid back than LoS. I keep asking if they need further proof of right to stay, etc. and the answer so far as been a resounding "no".

Even with the crappy weather today, taking a quick look around the place, I think I might rather like it here - at least for now.

I was wondering the other day when you were going to be there.

Good luck mate, best wishes and all that. I'm sure you'll enjoy, just avoid all the posionous native residents. Oh, and Australia has some venomous snakes, spiders and stuff too so watch out for them.

I thought that as a lawyer, they would be more afraid of you than you them!

And thanks for the best wishes

^need a change as much as anything else. Plus, if I didn't make the move now, it unlikely I ever would have, and I was not sure I was happy with that either.

You can look forward to at least six months of getting to know the beauty of Sydney mate, good on ya. Oooh, I feel all warm and fuzzy.

If you think Bondi and Manly are nice, check out Whale and Palm Beach. If you're dazzled by Sydney harbour, check out Pittwater, Middle Harbour or some of the smaller bays like Mosman bay.. Sydneys a great town, where people work hard and play hard- and there is always something new to do. I reckon you'll love it, especially on a lawyers wedge. If I can help with any information or advice, feel free to ask.

It can happen when you get a southerly change, but in general the weather is terrific, When I lived there we would do a week night racing, in 4 years I cannot remember a bad weather race. Then I moverd to Melbourne It seemed then EVERY race night was bloody cold wet.
Sort out a new "friend" with a nice big yacht and go racing with them, you will love it.

I presume you're talking about the immigrants. Aussies are as hard working as the Thais.
