Tapes and Tapes - The Loon. I obtained this following a good review it received on Pitchfork. I like it...."Indie Rock" is how I would label it if I worked in a music supermarket and I was given the job of labelling the produce....I would imagine this would be a Saturday job as I have another job during the week and I doubt that music supermarkets would pay much in wages....I suppose I could be the manager showing a new trainee how the labelling is done, yes that would be okay.

I'm just a big copycat, so I'm also listening to PJ Harvey. The song I am listening is called Angelene and is from the album 'Is This Desire'. If other copy cats feel like joining in we can petition for a new thread entitled 'What P J Harvey Track are you listening to at the moment", and if that really takes off then we as well shut down the rest of the forum and just have this one thread....Let's see how it goes.

Death in Vegas - Leather (Live at Brixton). I'd imagine that these would be a great band live, especially if one is a tinsy bit wobbly.

Desperate Man - Tindersticks....Genius is an overused word; Einstein, Galileo ,Sylvester Stallone, CMN....just about anyone who can tie their own shoe laces up - But if ever the true meaning of the word required application in bold strokes of gold leaf then it should be applied without reservation to me for liking this song.

Sao Paulo - Guillemots ....If I am ever asked to provide evidence of my theory that music can be divided into separate spheres of 'art' and 'entertainment', then I will use this song as a demonstration of music as art. Over 11 minutes long, but don't you dare stop listening until the end - It's a complete piece, listening to only the first half would be as glancing out of the corner of an eye at a Turner and stating, "Looks like he used crayons".

I like "Take Me Too The Other Side" by Spaceman Three....."Come on and take me for a ride, take me to the other side"....Sometimes I cross and re-cross the Thames on the Woolwich Ferry just so as I can sing it from the prow....like Kate Winslet in Titanic.

I am at this very moment in time listening to Lou Reed, Satellite of Love...."I watched it for a little while; I like to watch things on TV...ooooooh bon-bon"

1 Giant Leap by 1 Giant Leap.....Not sure about this band/combo so I'll go look them up for you....hold on a sec....Apparently they are a 'concept band' and 'media project'....Whatever, the album has has contributions from Michael Stipe, Dennis Hopper, Neneh Cherry, Brian Eno, Skippy the bush kangeroo.
It's very good in my opinion, especially skippy's gansta rap piece.

I am listening to Nick Drake's album 'bryter later'. It actually sounds good in the sunshine. Actually it sounds good anytime.
