She was in TWO bands with Robert Palmer. Before Vinegar Joe they were briefly together in a band called Dada - NOT the US band of the 80s.
Palmer joined just before they broke up and he, Elkie, and her partner, guitarist Pete Gage formed Vinegar Joe. I believe Dada recorded one album but this was prior to Robert Palmer's membership of the band
