I've made a pleasant discovery today which I will share with you: The National. I've never heard of them before but have been listening to their new album, Boxer, and one of their previous efforts, Alligator - both excellent.
From Wiki:
The National is an indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York, founded in 1999 by friends (including two pairs of brothers) from Cincinnati, Ohio....influences range from Tom Waits to U2. The band's morose, self-deprecating lyrics are written and sung by Matt Berninger in a distinctive, deep baritone.
Godspeed You Black Emperor! - Lift Your Skinny Fists
Cheers Danbo.
I also acquired a Smog album (The one about red apples. Not bad).
They are original, that's for sure. The EP Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada is rather good - I especially like the track Moya....I am listening to it now in fact.
As for Smog (Bill Callahan) - I have to be in the mood as he's not the most jolly chap in the world. My favourite album is Dongs of Sevotion. - I haven't heard the Red Apples one.
carabao,sound good
the best of "Karawan"
Michael Fuckin' Bolton in the telly. Aaaaarrrgggghhhh!!!!!
Smash it! Smash it now! before it's too late.
The National - Abel - From the album Alligator that I mentioned earlier....It's a cracker of an album, it really is.
^ It had better be. I'm a gonna download it.
