    from Wikipedia.....

In contrast to many popular Australian athletes, Thorpe's demeanour is often described as quiet and mild-mannered

What's that trying to tell us......?????
He's more like a Brit than an Ocker?

If you do a google image search for famous Welsh Swimmers, only one guy pops up.

He's won twice as many golds as the Thorpedo though

He's British when he wins gold, not Welsh.

Then the Waugh Twins who dominated World Cricket.

And last but not least our 24th Prime Minister who's claim to fame was patting Queen Lizzie on the arse.

I went to the same school as the Waugh twins and Thorpie, East Hills Boys High.

What type of ham smells of curry?

    Birmingham.

I'm not from London either; I'm in the West midlands, Warwickshire; I just don't sound like an unexcitable moron.
