One of the nice memories I have about this song,…….girls who knew this song and every beat coming up, could dance so well to it.
Never really liked the Beatles. Now the Stones - that was some kickass music!
The Rolling Stones were scheduled to play a concert here in 2003 but they chickened out.
Had tickets and was about to head to the airport at Phuket to fly up when I rang a mate in Bkk only to be told it was a non-eventOriginally Posted by Thormaturge

Cause they removed (copyright) the two gimme shelter videos I posted earlier (starts 22 seconds into the vid)
Without a doubt, the best rock band that stretched the most years with great music. I like the Beatles, but the Rolling Stones have nobody close to their overall appeal if you like rock and roll. I remember the early years when "Satisfaction" came out and I was living the 1960's in all its glory. I do not remember all of the years, but remember the Rolling Stones the best along with the Doors. Not that I can compare the two, but the Stones were my favorite by far. Now that we are all a lot older, they are still my favorite all time band and we will never see anyone close to them. Thanks for the clips and the memories..........They always take me back to a better time.
Rolling Stones won't tour this year

LOS ANGELES • Despite earlier speculation that the Rolling Stones would launch a major tour this year, Keith Richards says it won't happen, because "basically, we're just not ready," according to RollingStone.com.
That will mean the group won't be on the road for the 50th anniversary of their formation in 1962, but more likely will hit the concert trail next year, the report says.
Although a tour this year had been widely rumored, concert industry veterans have been guarded about confirming the talk, and the Rolling Stone reports from Richards and, separately, Mick Jagger would seem to close the door on that prospect.
At last month's blues concert at the White House, Jagger said it was no easy task to pull a Stones tour together. "You can't just walk up there and do it," he told Rolling Stone. "If you're playing a football tournament, you've got to practice. I feel very confident. I don't want to sound cocky, but it's just part of what you do. If you prepare, then you can be cocky."
The story also says that band members have reconnected recently with bassist Bill Wyman, who left the Stones almost two decades ago, and was replaced by Darryl Jones. Richards said it's possible that Wyman would be part of a tour next year. "I think he's up for it," Richards said. "We talked about it."
Meanwhile, Stones fans can look forward to a career-spanning documentary about the band due in the fall, and the group is planning to enter the studio for what could turn into a new album in time for a tour.

Like this one too
an early one from the stones, from "aftermath".
Loved the Stones when I was a kid growing up, still not grown up and still love the classic tunes they put together. I've seen them 3 times, Roundhay Park Leeds, Wembley and Newcastle, missed them when they played Hong Kong. Hope I get the opportunity to see them again. Fave tracks are Sympathy for the Devil, Gimme Shelter, Angie, Waiting on a Friend, All cried out, Paint it black.....too many to mention. Long Live Rock n Roll, long live MJ and KR. The recent stuff that MJ's been involved in Superheavy is pretty good as well. Thanks for putting these links up.
Saw a really interesting doco about the making of exile on main street, fantasitic footage I never imagined would have existed. They did live an unbeleivably privileged life we all would have dreamed of.
Let it bleed one of the best albums ever.
Are they still making music that will last this long?
There's something I should tell you
Why don't you sit there in that chair
You're looking good today
I love the way your comb's tucked in your hair
My cards are on the table
but the drinks have all run out
There's been some *other's* in this room with me
we're really quite a crowd
It's hard to break it gently
but I really thought it through
I don't think there's much future left
for me and you me and you
I've been following the river
til it joins hands with the sea.
I've been thinking of you so bad
Cause you always saw the best in me
You'll probably forget me
and I'll fade back in the *fog*
Just a face disappearing without trace
I'll be lost I'll be lost
One day I'll hear some laughter in a out-of-town cafe
I'll be reaching for your number
I'll be calling out your name
calling out your name
I've been following that river
gonna join hands with the sea
I've been thinking of ya all the time
Cause you always saw the best in me
I'll be following the river - oh my!
Till it spills out in the sea
When I first think about ya oh dear
Cause you always saw the best in me
(always saw the best in me)
I'll be following the river (yeah!)
Till it joins hands with the sea
Ah if I can't have ya
I'll be dreaming all about ya
Cause you always saw the best in me
I'll be following the river
Till it joins hands with the sea
I'll be thinking about ya
cause you always brought the best in me
Is their any link to listening (free) without youtube? It's blocked here.
