Honestly, I've never understood the fascination with Marilyn Monroe. Decent looking yes, but a stunner? Sort of.

Her acting (at least in the 7 year Itch movie) was not very good) IMO, even though she played a "naive blond."

I think these shots are interesting because to think of Santa Monica beach back in 1962, much have been a much nicer place, then, than it is, now.

In that era, there were certainly more attractive actresses, but normally of the demure type. Monroe's fame was probably due more to her party girl/sex on legs image.

Apparently Truman Capote wanted Marilyn to play Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's because of her increased sexuality + naïvety would have been perfect in the roll.

it was her sex appeal that was the facination with most.
